Ingredients:
300ml water
250ml almond milk (or your choice of vegan milk)
10g(4 tbsp) Hojicha leaves
2 - 4 tbsp sweetener (I used maple syrup)
Instructions:
1. bring water to a boil. add Hojicha and steep for 2 minutes.
2. pour almond milk in to the pan, heat until it's almost boiling then steep for another 2 minutes.
3. remove the tea leaves and add sweetener.
4. Enjoy!

１、水を沸騰させ、ほうじ茶を入れて２分間蒸らします。
２、アーモンドミルクを加え、沸騰直前まで温めて火を止め、さらに２分間蒸らします。
３、茶葉を取り除き、お好みで甘味料を加えます。

To me, it smells and tastes a lot like cooked seaweed does. I'm not usually a big fan of seaweed, but I think houjicha is delicious and unique. Definitely worth seeking out if you're a green tea lover.

This is like a movie, a ritual almost. I remember at the Japanese café I used to work, we were known for making amazing Green Teas (all kinds) and Hojicha lattes, unfortunately we needed a shorter version of the process so we used powder instead of leaving the tea to make the infusion and so.
