This video starts out with more early morning trucking as the day moves on. We got a call for an unsafe structure… got a crane called out tried to remove the chimney but it broke in half… then Mike got out the foot wedge and pushed down. Hopefully we will get signed off and get these displaced tenants back in there homes. Finished off the day in Bakersfied at the ranch.

Several months ago, when I started watching this, I (and many others) kept talking about the snow loads on the roofs. But so many people would be naysayers and would keep saying how the roofs in that area were constructed to handle it. I guess that I was always one of those "told you so" types. So many roofs will, at the very least, be leaking like a sieve by the time this season is over. Not to mention the damage done from water backing up the shingles from the ice dams. It would be interesting if you could show us inside more of the ones damaged or leaking

There are a lot of older homes that were just meant to be "summer cabins" which will have issues and had issues in 2010-11. House that were built post 2010-11 should be fine if engineers and building officials followed the new updated engineering standards. IMO

For the tire on the loader, get some starting ether and spray about 2-3 seconds into the tire. Toss a match at it and the mini explosion will bead the tire. Then pump it up with your compressor. Save you a whole lot of work pulling that wheel. We use this technique all the time on semi and loader tires. Good luck! Really enjoy your vids. Stay safe.

I really enjoy seeing the three completely different lives that you live! I always thought that it would be amazing to live high in the Sierra where it can snow a lot and is not normally super hot in the summer, but seeing what can happen, feast or famine, has changed my mind!

Beautiful!! Watch the runtime on those lil' 2 stroke plug in airpumps, overheating it would prolly kill it, and leave you stranded; so get two if runnin' it on equipment!! I've got one like yours, cheap, functional, and loud, lol! It was cheaper than another new tire, on the new set I have for Skittles, my lil' pickumup. I drive truck, with peculiar hours, so can't 😂 lite it up in the neighborhood @3AM, to even get to the yards.. . turned out that the errant screw wasn't too close to the sidewall after all, and was an able repair. Thinking that I really didn't want to try those plug kits myself, so I got it checked out 1st. Now I've got this really loud 😮 tire pump .. and a couple plug kits, lol!! 😂

Have you never heard of a long tail shovel with a pointed nose, it would make quicker work on digging out the snow and a whole lot easier on the workers, maybe you are charging by the hour. Every year the stores here offer square mouth snow shovels as they call them and they sit and they sit, no one buys them. Even the Army use pointed shovels and in your business, digging with a point rather than a square will do less harm when you hit something valuable like a vehicle

Boggles my mind to have a second home and let the snow pile up like that on the roof? They are going to have major damage to the roof and beams. I guess when you have money than you can spend, it’s not a concern. If I was leaving, I’d bloody well have a contract for snow removal. You pay now or pay way more later. My parents were in Mexico for six months every Winter. They have a contract for snow removal. Also looks like someone is present in the house when you do.

A dude with an ax chopping the roof looks scary. So he will leave notches on the roof for sure, and maybe even make holes. Try using salt on the remaining ice on the rooftops instead of the axe. It will quickly melt the crust, it will be easy to break it, if necessary, it will be perfectly pricked and discarded.

Is there a natural bowl somewhere in the ranch lanscape that could be sealed up to hold run-off from some giant tarps (bought 2nd-hand from a stadium doing an upgrade?) You could build some covered rollers, and unfurl the tarps when rain was forcast, then roll them back up to avoid the sun. Probably some turn-key units in existance. Surround the captured water with suitable fruit and firewood trees, some to be drip irrigated etc

@@tedthompson3419 -- Good luck on the remodel! Technically, if you did care, who would be responsible for it, the plow company or you/your insurance? I was just wondering as this kind of minor damage must happen as a nature of the work, who pays to fix it.
@tedthompson3419
@tedthompson3419 Жыл бұрын
@@MrWildbill Hey Bill, that's a good question. I reread the contract and it says: "CONTRACTOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES TO PAVEMENT OR CURBS." Not sure whose responsibility it would be for damage other than that. There was some other wording in there about contractor not being responsible for hidden objects but I don't think that would apply. Once again, in our case a moot point. Cheers.

Life in Mammoth would not be possible, without the efforts, the sweat, and continual energy that you, the team, and all of the equipment which has been committed to the city. I still feel that the mayor, should have a huge 'free' buffet dinner for all of the teams and companies which kept Mammoth alive and operational. The expense would just be a part of the expense of living and working in Mammoth.
