Or waiting on insurance. Or a hurricane lol. My project (which was my daily) got totaled a month ago and finally got paid off by insurance yesterday. I got a week to buy something else. Not had power for a week due to Beryl and if this is any indication, my next car needs to not be a project. 😂

The amount of nickel and dime jobs on our project (building from scratch for the road) is horrific. Just the wiring was weeks of episodes, getting number plates lights, dash padding for safety, not to mention parts sourcing... all in it's a drag and trying to make an episode that people want to watch AND makes progress is tough when you run out of the big headline wins (welding chassis/bodywork/engines/etc) Holding off on work because of the order-of-install only compounds it, Ours hasn't been on the floor in more than a year because the suspension came off to do wheel bearings, among other small bits. It sounds insane. The week we got the bits to make up some custom (temporary) driveshafts, the welder died which also knocks everything back and means more outlay on things other than parts and time spent on not building/fixing problems. KZbin doesn't like big projects :| Looking forward to the next big build, just don't do what we did :D

To me, there is noone on youtube that comes even close to you in terms of style and tastefulness. Just look at how well curated your Garage is. I wish you could keep the Ford - and I bet you do too, so selling it to fund another project is even more deserving of respect. And if you, a generally rather humble guy, promises the biggest project so far - i have absolute faith it will turn out just awesome. With the Model A, if you are going to sell there is no need to put extra stuff into it. Make it work and look nice and sell it. It's only going to cost more money in the end by keeping it and doing small upgrades that takes time and more money that you are not going to recoup when selling it.

ALL-IN.... I LIKE THAT!! I Wish you 50Mil subs and nothing but the best. It is not obnoxious explaining projects. Unfortunately, funding is a serious issue when it comes to these types of builds, and that is the harsh reality. Did you maybe think of something like, every person who donate like $15 or more towards this project can have their name listed in your new project under the hood (inside, underside of the hood)? That'll be epic

I mean Project Binky is not really finished yet is it now 😂 waiting till you have enough to show for a few episodes makes sense and as a viewer is probably less annoying that waiting a decade for a build to finish 😂 Keep at it and thanks for keeping us in the loop of what goes on behind the curtains

I'd love to see something like MA's second channel on here. Love to see the canyon run you and Vin went on and all the other cool, or even silly shit your up to. It doesn't need to be as fine tuned as the edits you put here. Just shoot from the hip, run and gun. More uploads doesn't need to feel like more work, just keep a camera rolling and you'll get the views.
@stanceworks5 ай бұрын
I'd like to do something like that, but it also makes the "fun" stuff feel like work too. I struggle to let go and let the content be lower quality, which makes the frequency suffer at times. I could always try it, but it's hard. I don't feel like I could upload it here, but I also don't feel like anyone would sub to a new channel.
@Hawkinsnikwah5 ай бұрын
@@stanceworks Not sure if it's the algos themselves or what... but higher frequency definitely helps channels build on any social media platform. Your quality on your main episodes is top notch and shouldn't change. However, adding some in between, lower quality, fun content that's not as much of a time sink for you might help YT's algo boost your channel. When you started the channel, you were at 2 episodes a week and it grew pretty quickly off of that. People will watch whatever you put out anyway! It's good shit

I have an idea for the fuel cell to help your fuel running out! 2 things, 1 extend the cell up and gain fuel amount, 2 use a fuel mat on the bottom of the cell that will draw until the very end! Fuel mat is made by Holley and all the nascar cup cars use one to keep from fuel starvation!

The hardest part about building cars for KZbin is setting up. Writing. Production. Filming. Editing it
@HulluJanne5 ай бұрын
Don't worry about not "finishing" a video. Just film as you go. It's always better to see stuff in the making than see it finished or compressing the work into a single video. I mean just a while ago I watched an Estonian dude cutting down and sawmilling lumber for like 2 and a 1/2 hours! And the time just flew by. Legitstreecars has many 40 min to hour plus long episodes, as does Rob Dahm. Also Diesel Creek. Many 15-20 min videos are just too stubby and compacted. But of course they can be interesting if filmed in detail.

I have only watched a few of your efforts. The points made on costs and the order of doing things are completely understandable to anyone restoring cars. The interesting thing is that the management of the process has to be one of trial and error: many manufacturers indeed leave customers to deal with these issues (for example many Audis and VWs outside warranty have quasi-electronic gremlins that many garages cannot solve). The upshot is that as with the swirl pot issue, restorers who do modifications have to think ahead many steps in advance. What does this mean for doing a good You Tube: it probably means building the compete car bar the paint to "dry build" level, testing it and only after doing the changes, actually start doing the filming! This is probably not realistic with the revenues that You Tube reportedly provides so I can only assume that superficial car videos (perhaps with some lightly clad ladies doing shuffle dances) are the way to go!
@adaml.83005 ай бұрын
For the Ferrari, maybe reduce the size of the fuel cell and put the surge tank in the space you make that way. Or make a new fuel cell and build the surge tank into one side of the tank. Just a thought

The answer to all your issues is the same as EVERYBODY else who has a project car. Baby steps. You could make an entire episode assembling the head for the Audi. It'll make an ep, show progress, make you happy. You can probably fab the surge tank because you'll know approximately where its going. There's an episode. There's progress.
