As someone who has had an eating disorder and being out as gay and dealt with bullying, I really liked the way they handled those sensitive topics, I feel like a lot of shows don't really handle ED's all that well and sometimes can be a little bit insensitive. RE: Darcy's mom Once I was talking to a colleague about kids (she had them, I didn't) and she asked me if I wanted them. I started talking about money, and worries, and she said "You won't have kids, you think too much. If I had thought about it, I wouldn't have had them either" and that single sentence punched me in the gut with the UNDERSTANDING of bad parents and why they exist. So many people just have kids because they think it's what they are supposed to do, or because they want someone to take care of them when you're older, or because they literally can't stop a pregnancy cuz it's illegal. They are either not ready or unwilling or just see it as a transactional thing, and they can't even understand how much they make their kids hurt.

I love that the show is beginning to shine a light on Charlie as a person. I think he was overlooked in season 1 by fans because everyone was so invested in the romance between him and Nick. But even in the beginning, the show displays symptoms of Charlie's eating disorder. If you look back, you'll see that Charlie hardly eats. I've read the graphic novels, but I'm really interested in how the show breaks Charlie's relationship with his parents. I'm not saying that his home life is bad (like Darcy's), but neither of his parents appear to be actively watching him. I mean, are they even aware about how bad the bullying was? The only person that appears to be in the loop is Tori.

There are little crumbs of this in season 2. Not only did they not realize that Nick and Charlie were dating, they seemed absolutely shocked by it. But, I need season 3 to show more about Charlie's struggle and how Nick, family, and his friends will be there for him. In the end, it's Charlie himself who can help him. I can't stop crying. I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it yet but since you talked about the acting in the final scene, apparently they filmed it for over 7 hours, and were both so emotionally drained at the end of it that they couldn't talk to anyone for an hour. The acting in this series needs so much more recognition, I'm glad they won several Emmys last year but they deserve so many more

SPOILERS FOR THE GRAPHIC NOVEL!!!! in the novel, when charlie's mental health gets really bad, nick is on holiday with his family and cant really help as much as he wishes he could, so he vents to his mom and she tells him ''love cant cure mental illness'' and that line hits so hard, cant wait to see olivia coleman quoting this

The last song that played with Charlie and Nick at the door is actually by Will Gao (Taos actor) and his sister Olivia Hardy! They’re a music duo called Wasia Project and the song is ur so pretty. They released the song as a part of an ep about a month after S1 of heartstopper released. Highly recommend you guys check them out, they’re great! I think the inclusion of the song added so much to the scene and made me cry my eyes out. They’re one of my favorite artists and I loved it so much

I will say it a thousand times: ALICE OESMAN KNOWS HOW TO WRITE GOOD CHARACTERS. I love and forever will love the way she makes them so believable as people and yet such good people. But the bad ones, she makes the audience KNOW when they’re bad and that they shouldn’t get a redemption arch.

i dont feel bad for ben because being insecure about your sexuality doesnt give you the right to mistreat others, in the scene where charlie talks to ben, at the end ben actively walks away from the rainbow, to me it symbolizes the community he could be a part of but chose not to

Isaac's story line meant so much to me, I only recently learned about and identified as AroAce now at the age of 27. I felt so alone and broken for so long. There is such a lack of AroAce representation in media and even in the LGBTQIA community. I read Alice Oseman's book, Loveless and my mind was blown, it made me want to read Heartstopper and in turn watch the show. I really enjoyed your reaction to this season! Hugs!

Just personally loved seeing you react to all the aromantic and asexual stuff. It's complicated because we've been conditioned to never question romantic attraction and it was lovely to see you engage with these ideas. This show helped me understand a lot about myself and how I relate to romantic love. Isaac wasn't my favourite character though. Alice Osman does an incredible job portraying this more complexly and (arguably) more beautifully in her book 'Loveless', I recommend anyone whose interested, or feeling a little lost by the lack of representation of aro-ace people, read it. xo

That second to last scene hits so hard especially when you remember how Charlie said that he just doesn't want Nick to be bullied or feel as bad as he did. As a lesbian who was basically Charlie when I was a teen (has/had an ED, SHed, was bullied for her identity, had an ex like Ben, and a first love like Nick after) this season hit so close to home, and was also beautifully executed

@ville__ I'll have you know that I, a non-binary asexual lesbian, reported one of your comments. Being gay/part of the LGBTQIA+ community is *not* a choice, nor is it a lifestyle. It is who people are born to be. I was born non-binary, I just didn't discover that until just a couple months ago. I was born asexual, I just didn't discover that until seven years ago. I was born a lesbian, I just didn't discover that until five years ago. I've said this once, and I'll say it again: being gay/part of the LGBTQIA+ is *not* a choice, nor is it a lifestyle. People are born this way, but it may (emphasis on the word "may", because many people have always known who they truly are, and that's okay, too!) take them a while to discover their true selves, like it did for me. So kindly leave this comment section, get a life, and learn from your mistakes of being a bigoted and homophobic jerk. Thank you.

Little fact!! Alice Oseman said the last scene of the final episode of Nick and Charlie took 7 hours to film🥹 she said this was the most emotional scene she has ever filmed and wanted to get it right. So it took 7 hours to film ❤️. As a gay man I love this show for so many reasons but also because it shows the reality of being gay, lesbian, trans,bi,asexual, etc and dealing with the things most people in the world don’t see or care about. Also btw I love you videos🥹❤️❤️
