Fixing a coleman stove pump.
This is the Kit I bought from walmart - amzn.to/2zJlZUk
About the same price on amazon with free 1 day shipping
No sound, just a few minutes of action. The repair of the coleman stove took about 15 minutes or so, I removed the old pump, used it to match the pump replacement kit parts with the one that I bought, and I reinstalled the new pump.
The same pump mechanism works for other coleman stoves and lanterns. If you have any questions feel free to drop a comment or reach out to me on instagram. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for this video. I just revived our 40+ year old Coleman stove after watching this. It’s been sitting in my parents storage room since the early 80’s and is breathing new life once again.

Hey Eric! Wanted to let you know that you super inspired me! One year from yesterday I watched a video of yours and you mentioned how you didnt drink any alcohol for an entire year. Well last year I was drinking too much and your video inspired me to make the same goal. Yesterday was my one year sober :) Thank you for the inspiration. Hope all is well. John

thecollegepicker Thanks man, I truly appreciate it. Most definitely, everything in life is better sense I called it quits. It’s improved my life in more ways than can be explained. I tried to do the book thing too but only read 7. Some good ones though. 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership and The Worlds Greatest Salesman were my favorites

Thats so awesome, congratulations. 7 is good! I listened to a few audio books last year but I dont think I finished a single book book =( 21 laws of leadership is good, the other one I have never read. Are you going to be going for year 2? I think I am on year three 😱 I lost track hahah

thecollegepicker Worlds greatest salesman was really good. I’m not a strong reader but I read in two day, which has gotta be a record for me. I haven’t decided yet but I’m definitely not jumping right back on the drinking train again. 3 years is amazing! Did you drink much before you decided to stop? I was drinking daily when I decided to copy your challenge

Jeez man... the leather pump cup was way better and still worked (I promise) all it was missing was oil (hence the letters o i l on the side and a hole to drop the three in one oil in.) The leather will swell back up and they last a lot longer than the rubber POS replacement you just bought from Walmart. I hope you didn't throw the old pump away because I assure you all it needed was a little oil and it would have worked just fine neats foot oil is the best but you can use three in one oil, or really car oil or oil of any kind. The rubber ones deteriorate overtime ( quickly) and fall apart the leather ones last over 50 years and only need to be oiled every once in awhile so they stay juicy and plump. Hope this helps. I have four products from Coleman one has a leather pump up that is still going the other three things I bought someone has replaced them with the rubber ones and they are coming apart dry and won't pump already and I can tell from them being rubber that they are way newer than any of the other leather ones I pulled out they stopped working way before the leather ones give out

I just bought an untested 426D and found the pump didn’t work just like this guy and was about to buy a repair kit, luckily I happened to read your comment and gave it a minute to soak in oil and I’ll be damned it started pumping like brand new, thanks for the wisdom!

I noticed that there was a change in the white plastic piece that holds the plastic pump - part. In the old pump, it looked like the raised thing in the white cup was pointed downward, but then when you put the replacement on, it seemed you put the white plastic thing on with the raised thing up, fitting the plastic part directly flat on the white plastic thing. Then you put the push-on device on. Did I see the difference or am I imagining things. I've tried to get a lantern back to working with the raised piece pointed down with the plastic pump part fitting inside it and it hasn't work. I'll try what I thought I saw in your video. Thanks.

If you had the leather pump, you could have saved yourself the gas to go to wally mart, the replacement pump and your time. Just put a few drops of light 3in1 oil or if you do not have that, regular oil on the leather and work it into the leather. Reinstall and voila, works again. The leather pumps also work in the winter. The rubber one shrink in the cold and do not work at all. That is why there is a small hole on the pump cap and it usually says oil. You are to put a drop in every so often to lubricate the pump.

If the metal parts are fine you can just get a replacement leather plunger from Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QFJUSK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If you keep the leather well oiled it'll last longer than the rubber.

I said, if it makes you feel any better, it's broke ":) He said, it's the pump (yep!) Just get a piece of leather the same dimensions, poke a hole and done! So thanks for this info too!!
