I can't see W12 when there are so many hangers-on to W10, still

This is turning into Windows vista! First people said 2023 then they said 2024, now they are saying it is not even coming in 2025 or possibly 2026! This is the type of stuff that happened during the Windows vista release cycle, it was slated for release in 2003, that turned into 2005 and then 2007! It's time to move on from Windows...

If we are to buy a new machine now, with hopes of going up to Windows 12, what should we look for, spec wise? Should we be going with that extra year extended support in the hopes 12 shows up in 2026, or should it be with 0Patch, so we can hang on longer waiting for 12 to show up?

Come as it may.

My personal opinion is they will release 12 when they decide that you have a copilot plus CPU so that would mean LGA 1700 and older wouldn't work.

Hopefully my Ryzen 7 7700X is modern enough in 1-2 years for a Possible Windows 12 Release. If find out it isn't upon release info if and when comes, hopefully i got money saved for an upgrade!! to fully support it. Never sat out a Windows Release, someway, somehow i'd get all my systems supported eventually.

Also, You guys need it understand that Windows 12 is not coming this year we will just have to waiting Windows 12 until 2026 we don’t know what gonna happen 2026 or could it Windows Zinc (2027) before Windows 13 (2030) if I predicted Windows Zinc So you will find out Microsoft Ignite 2026 or Microsoft Ignite 2027 for Windows Zinc I think My Predictions would be staying On Windows 11 23H2 and 24H2 and 25H2 possibly Extending End of Support for Windows 11 until End of Support to October 2031 Microsoft would be continuing Windows 11 25H2 until Windows 11 26H2 (2026)

I suspect you are correct, but when it comes to M$, never say “never.” Trying to predict their behavior is fraught with peril, me thinks.

Since Microsoft is trying to get users to stop using WIndows 10 and upgrade to Windows 11, it is unlikely that they would release Windows 12 in 2025. Also, 24H2 introduced upgraded AI

Every time you say “Copilot plus PC” it sounds (to my US ears) like “Copilotless PC”. Not a criticism, I just find that somewhat amusing. :-) K8BRF

Or just buy a mac instead, especially if your computer doesn’t meet hardware requirements for win11. Then you’ll get a brand new OS every year for 6 years.. macOS is supported for a much longer time than windows versions are.

If microsoft still make builds of windows 12 is still suspect for all that will be only windows 11 25h2 because I am not sure all people says a right thing about windows 12. Windows 12 will be released this year. If we take a look at the windows 10 if this os reach end of support will be esu update only for enterprise users. In this case after the end of windows 10 support windows 11 will die so much faster and is not a good thing. Windows users as me will not aproved to be windows killed with ai and many bloatware and all users to move to linux. Linux is not bad at all but not all programs runs on linux. Windows will still the most used windows where games and programs will still compatible. So microsoft will need to release windows 12 this year.
