Try being the fan that was hoping for the return of Aboloth( hinted in the Clone Wars Celestial arc), heard that George wanted the Yuzong Vong to be canon( one of the planned arcs of season 7 the fact its planned means it was Lucas approved) and after Malachore was mentioned in Clone Wars was hoping if we'd know of Revan, the Exile and Kriea. And Disney in Rebels sterilized Malachore changing it from a planet ravaged by Intradictor ships with so much pain and agony that force sensitives around the planet died on the spot or lost their connection to the force crippling them. Said event also made the republic lose almost all technologies revolving around Intradictors because it was so horrifying. Instead the planet was just one of many battles between Jedi and Sith around a force draining weapon( how many was it this time).

The Wolfpack its ok i just think that ahsoka has a better arc than rey but to go toe toe with greivious maul and vader is baffiling considering she joined anakin at 13years of age and bested maul when she was 16/17years and i find her overused i dont think she should have been in season 7 and that vader would kill her in rebels

@@matthewfarrugia5095 She didn't best Maul, she took advantage of an opportunity when the Clones arrived. She also NEVER BEAT GRIEVOUS. Everytime she fought him she was on the run. And she went toe to toe with Vader, sure, but she was ultimately defeated by him.

You mock them because you don't want to feel like you are losing, you apparent that you don't like it and they are the fools. Now that this is more open lots of girls love video games, that is the proof that this was all mainstream media and culture driven.

@@MoRPho151 Boys were excluded of playing videogame as well by their parents, society and the giggling girls laughing at the 'losers'. The difference is, males fight off these kinds tyranny and insult. While girls follow and join in with the tyranny to become a part of it. And now you come in after all the work has been done, blaming 'the boys' instead of yourself. Stop blaming others. Take some accountability. It was you who chose not to bear the 'shame' society puts on you and gave in to laugh at the boys yourselves as the mainstream told you to be part of the gang.

CT - 3512 there are strong female characters in it and that’s all that matters and I would like Disney to stop trying to force all this political correctness and feminist agenda on ya. What the sequels could have been could’ve been amazing but the ruined not only the sequels but Star Wars as a whole right now by destroying Luke and Leia’s characters and completely making anakins sacrifice meaningless but making palpating love somehow. They need to give Star Wars back to George Lucas so he can fix the mess they created.

Tyler Worsham yeah, but the problem is we know this ain’t what Lucas set up. Balance was restored when the last siths died, because they were the unbalance, they were the disturbance, they and any other dark side of force user, because the dark side itself is the force when disturbed, it’s the perversion of the force Luke and the jedi tried to get rid of. This whole « the jedi misread the prophecy by thinking Anakin would bring balance by destroying the dark side » thing is nonsense. Fun, and it would make for a good story in its own right (hello kotor), but we know this is not really how the force works. We know that what the force truly is is « the force », and the thing that causes the force to lose balance is the users of the dark side of the force.

Star Wars were the most popular movies ever, so popular and so wise it could use the popularity to influence the fans to create greatness… It had such a knowledge of the darkness, it could even keep the feminists from complaining. It became so powerful… the only thing it was afraid of was losing it's greatness, which eventually, of course, it did. No, a knife has a point *and use.* Feminists don't have a point *and has literally no use.* Feminists are more akin towards diseases now. They infect and hurt you. Who they infect? Women. Who they hurt? Men. Another key difference is just how useful the knife is. You can use it for: Cooking, Killing, Slicing (Cutting cake etc) and more. Feminists do the following: Waste time, Attempt to violate male human rights, Sexist, (technically) racist, Annoy, Destroy. Infact, diseases are more better just because it can be used to cure people from other disease. (I forgot what its called but I heard somewhere if you have a certain disease, the doctors give you another to give you a fever which kills off the first disease then cures you of the second.)

Just gonna throw this out there- as a lady nerd, I actively avoid 99% of media that features a woman because it's almost always feminist garbage, woke, and completely unrealistic. I can count female leads I like on one hand with fingers to spare- but their strength was not because they were "just as strong or stronger than men" but because they embraced what made them different from men. Sorry- but the average man beat up the best female every time. Look at the fighting between "trans" women and actual women- we're not built for the same things as men. The problem with this new wave of story telling is the story tellers are far too invested in a narrative than reality- and for most ladies like myself (those who aren't running around with blue hair screaming about the sins of white men) it's patronizing.

I don't mind OP characters, but an OP character without training is bullshit. I mean even Galen Marek went through at least 20-30 years of secret tutelage under Vader. I mean yeah, he had all that power from the start, but without training he couldn't touch but a tiny fraction of it.
@FrankCastle-tq9bz
@FrankCastle-tq9bz 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are ways to create characters that are incredibly powerful for the setting but they need to be *characters* first - an OP character like Dr. Manhattan in the "Watchmen" universe, for example, attained his abilities as the result of a freak accident and the attainment of said abilities radically altered his perception of the world in such a way that he can't relate to the average person anymore (resulting in him becoming rather passive towards events transpiring around him - eventually suffering a mental breakdown before one of his former colleagues convinces him to value life again). This is how an OP character is done properly within the context of a dark and gritty drama - the likes of Kathleen Kennedy should have made notes on this character before writing the Amazing Wonder Rey...

@@TheJoker-qo4fg Then somebody in graphic design at Lucasarts doesn't understand how puberty works. However, 13 years of that kind of training plus the trauma of everything that happened leading up to meeting Vader. That's not exactly rainbows and unicorns. That kid went through 13 years of Hell to develop that much that fast, and already suffering traumatic events that most adult soldiers have a hard time coping with. You can correct my guesswork, which wasn't too far off to begin with, all you like, but if you're attempting to dispute him as a valid example of an OP character who had to earn it, you're going to have to do better than some pretentious "Well actually...."

"Considering women make up the majority of moviegoers"...? Source? And do you have the statics on the movie genres and titles of that supposed source? Personally, as a woman, I never spent a dime on a movie to see a Mary Sue. I went because I wanted to see the story -and maybe fall in love with the characters along the way. I'll never forgive Round-Face or Disney for what they did to the original trilogies. They ruined Han and Luke, and even made Leia out as weak because she decided she wanted nothing to do with the Force and instead become a political and military leader... They ruined the original trio as a whole. They didn't save a damn thing.

Hell, if I'm correct, he wanted Han to die way back in Empire. The only part I really hated about his character in the Force Awakens is that Rey apparently knew more about the ship than he did (ripping out a piece of electronics somehow fixes problems now.)

So that can only mean that most women would rather have a good story rather than political messaging and gender politics else "woke" movies would not be flopping so bad. I think one thing that both men and women have in common is that we need to care about the characters to be invested in the story.

"It wasn't made for you!" WHO THE HELL ELSE WAS IT MADE FOR!? Disney must come to terms with the fact that the only reason why Star Wars has remained profitable and relevant after lackluster prequels and decade-long hiatuses is because of all the middle-aged, Jeff Albertson-esque fans that have been financially supporting this franchise for the last 42 years. That may be a tough pill to swallow for a company pandering to minorities and women, but it's reality. It's the geeks that buy the action figures, and collect the comics, and play the video games are the ones that have been keeping this franchise alive all these years, and Disney has alienated them.

True. I saw a string of back and forth between some feminist and a logical person about WHY captain marvel was such a bad movie and it came down to the logical person making a sound argument and the feminist tripping over their own points. In my opinion(and many others), captain marvel has the same issues the star wars sequel trilogy has. 1. All of these movies focus too much on female empowerment and pander to the people demanding it, rather than making a good movie. 2. The main characters (Ray and carol danvers) are overpowered with nothing to challenge them. It's no wonder that wonder woman was a much much better movie about feminism since a lot of "Feminists" don't realize that feminism isn't about being better than men; It's about being equal to men. That's why the original star wars trilogy was so good, since princess Leia needed obi-wan as much as the other male characters needing Princess Leia. That's how you write female empowerment with out it being boring or forced." 3. all of these films boost the female characters while dumbing down the male characters. In the case of the damsel in distress cliche, it's a male fantasy to save a female. Because we want to feel useful to the love of our life. That however is NOT dumbing female characters down. it IS dumbing a male character down when you make them bumbling idiots with no way to help while a "feminist" talks down to you. the reason why the damsel in distress scenario works is because deep down, you know that while the female character needs saving from a physical attack, the male character needs emotional support and love from the female character and that the man goes through hell and back for the woman he loves. That codependency is why a good film doesn't need to pander or to dumb characters down to "empower" any one gender." As previously shown time and time again, you can have good movies/shows/games with a strong female lead for example, wonder woman, star wars the animated series with Ahsoka tano, kill bill and the list goes on." Nowadays, feminism is less about being equal to men but rather being superior to men. those are just my (long ass) thoughts. What do you think?

Here’s a social experiment 1. Create a very Star Wars-like movie, with a big adventure and the hero’s journey and all that 2. Make the main protagonist male: this is the key component to this whole thing 3. Make him insanely overpowered. In fact, within the first ten minutes of the film, show off that he can use a sword like a master with years of training, despite previously being a rancher. 4. Introduce the big bad guy of the film 5. Continuing the hero’s quest, make the protagonist meet an old wise man... then disregarding him completely 6. Have him also shown off to be an ace pilot 7. Halfway into the movie, make sure he’s already near the enemy’s location, fighting off henchman after henchman like he’s trained martial arts under Shaolin Monks for decades 9. To draw out the time, be sure to show off his ninja levels of stealth, and his professional hacking skills 8. Have him fight and defeat the big bad guy of the film with little to no effort whatsoever, despite being a rancher at the beginning of the film. 9. Release the film to the public Side note: Be sure to ignore any essence of a character arc or character depth as a whole. That just makes our main character take longer to show off how incredibly powerful he is at everything. *Now watch how the audience reacts to your main character*

@@sorenweber3599 I know, Glados is one of the best written characters ever, but I said Chell because even tho she never speaks, not even a grunt, you can feel what she is feeling, you know the anger she has, Valve has even said that she is perfectly capable of speaking she just so annoyed by the robots around her that she refuse to engage in conversation with any of them to dignify them, you know what she is feeling because, it's a videogame and she and the player is basically the same, Glados is amazing, but Chell who literally never speaks a single word, has a neutral looking face all the time, never conveys emotion trough movement, is a better character than Rey

As a long-time female Star Wars fan I can honestly say I didn't need Star Wars to be female centric. I loved Leia in the original trilogy, she may not have been stronger than Luke or Vader, but she wasn't a prissy helpless damsel in distress. In the prequel trilogy I also loved Padme for very similar reasons. In the Expanded Universe I liked Mara Jade, Guri, Lumiya and Darth Talon, plus the Nightsisters. I never felt like Star Wars wasn't aimed at women; yes I understood that it was primarily aimed at guys, but that's because most "nerd stuff" was aimed at guys. I can see the appeal of having Star Wars movies with a female jedi as the lead and, on paper, it sounds like a really interesting idea. The problem for me was in the execution. I didn't need Rey to be perfect or unbeatable, that's not what makes a character interesting or much less relatable. As a person Rey was bland, I feel like I barely learned anything about her throughout the 3 movies, and her lack of flaws made me feel like there were no stakes. I think it all boils down to a much larger issue plaguing the film industry as a whole, the idea that fans won't support strong female characters unless they're devoid of flaws.
@TheRisky9

When I read their motives for gender swapping, I see nothing short of shear cynical, nihilistic, and outright disgust of the series as it is. They view as a thing that is problematic and needs fixing. "Girls will like it if we just 'fix' it and turn it into a space for them." Of course, we know what they mean by "space." Mostly a girl's club of "No Boys Allowed." (ie "It wasn't made for you.") Basically, they're aiming blindly for a demographic that doesn't exist. Yes, there is a strong female fanbase for Star Wars, but that, if anything, should indicate that all the women who would see Star Wars are already watching Star Wars. There’s no patriarchy stopping them. There never was one. I personally, have little care about Star Wars. In my world it exists in a realm of “I can take it or leave it.” Having a female character isn’t going to change my perspective from someone who enjoys, but has little care for, Star Warsn as a whole, into a die hard fanatic who says, “More, please!” Star Wars is going to need a lot more than that to capture my interest in that way. And that’s what most women feel.

Growing up,it seemed to me inclusive by it's nature. Both genders and all races enjoyed it from what i remember. But this seems to me not a push to make it "inclusive",but to make a preachy statement by having bland characters led by mary rey sue show up and replace beloved fan favorite characters(who get killed/demeaned)quickly mixed with transparently careless,fanfic quality storytelling, crapping all over established lore that made the franchise so special on the first place

@@BlackCroft666 Silent Hill is different because changes weren't brought on because Christopher Gans felt Silent Hill was "problematic." His reasoning was actually logical. He felt he could work better with a female lead and use the symbol of "mother" a lot better And if you watch any of Christopher Gans other films, he does have good female leads who are strong and yet unapologetically feminin. Basically working within his own talent and experience. The same goes with Kurosawa when he adapted MacBeth and changed it all to Japan. He didn't do it because he hated Shakespeare and thought he could improve on the material by giving Japanese a voice. It was an act of love for both Shakespeare and Japanese culture. But look at the reasoning behind the gender swap in Ghost Busters. Or James Bond. Why are they female? The reason boils down to trying to cater to an imaginary audience and a hatred for the source material being so "male." It's more about fitting their vision of the "future is female" then it is about breathing new life into a franchise. It's not about reimagining like Kurosawa or reinterpreting like Christopher Gans. This doesn't come from a place of love, but a place of contempt.

It’s the women of the new canon. Star Wars has always had some of the best female characters in the mainstream media by having every female character be strong. Disney somehow, though, thinks that instead of having every female character be strong, that every strong character should be female. There is a HUGE difference between those two!
