I like stim more than grapple tbh With grapple, its simple: grab a point and swing from point A to point B. With stim its more complex to get from point A to point B: you gotta stim while wallrunning, then chain in some bhops, into a wallkick, etc. Thats more fun to me

There is slingshots which are the most generic but require good timing, but then you have all of these small movements you can do with them, and it’s a whole balancing act of keeping your grapples charged. The skill ceiling is higher with grapple, you just need time. You still need to bunny hop and wall run to play well

I find it funny. This game was never intended to have a campaign, or at least not much of one. The game was intended to be mainly multiplayer with little to no lore put in place. I hate that the game was overshadowed by CoD and Battlefield, otherwise, people other than the diehard fan base would’ve gave it a chance a lot sooner

so at 24:20 that called "Hall of Mirror" or "HoM" that because texture are not added there, cause "normaly" you dont have access to this zone, so devs doesn't apply texture to lighten the rendering of the graphics card since you are not supposed to see this. therefore the void which is not textured reflects the last image being entered in this "void" field which gives this "mirror" image effect which we then call "Hall of Mirror"

In another universe, Titanfall 2 gets the release it deserved and you make it big as a titanfall channel. I’m pretty well versed in speedrunning for this game. They play in the mandarin language because that was found to save around 36 seconds of time so that became the new norm. The gauntlet is interesting because you cannot actually die, which is why they frag boost. It’s possible outside of the gauntlet, as seen at 5:07. I could go further in depth but I think you’d be better off just checking out bryonato yourself. And obviously Noah, I can tell you aren’t super familiar with the speedrunning scene but you did a good job commentating the run.

Remember Noah, for campaign, the player has Cloak, and all the Titan classes fully available. You do not get to have the super op grappling hook. It’s literally just the campaign ability. (Not counting Effect and Cause. That’s an art piece of a mission.)

The trippiness that hurts your eyes is where the frame buffer is not cleared each frame (which can speed up frame rates a bit), an assumption is made that the entire frame buffer is overdrawn (each frame). Clipping out of map can cause areas of the frame buffer not to be redrawn (as there is nothing on that area of the screen to be drawn) and the previous use of that frame buffer remains. Mix this in with double, or triple frame buffers and you get the flutter (double buffering) or strobing (triple buffer) effect.

The speedrunning programmes usually scan the current memory usage to see when a load screen is active, which in many cases pauses the clock until you have control over your character again.

The reason why the textures look so weird when he’s out of bounds is because when developers make maps they cut out areas that would never be seen so that the game can be as optimized as possible. What you are seeing is a literal void and because there is nothing there for the game to render what happens is it draws the last texture of the last frame that was on screen making that ripping effect. I know Tomatoanus explains it better than I did on his Mirrors edge speed run explained which I recommend you watch
