@@Adam4954- sure, but you can't expect someone to take pics with every single fan out there asking for one. Also, everybody has good days and bad days, maybe he was having a bad day? And listen, I'm not even a hardcore Lyles fan myself. I think he talks too much and that his mouth is way, way faster than his legs, but I do recognize how great of a sprinter he is despite of that.

Crazy how Noah is a 200m specialist yet he ran the 100m more consistent than 100m specialists this season. 3 times under 9.90s this season which is more times under 9.90s than most 100m specialists this season. And he's the only one that ran close to his personal best this season. Which is why I believe that he has been the best 100m athlete this season. Followed by Hughes and Thompson fom Jamaica.

He ran first only 0.01s slower than his personal best in the semifinals of the World Championships, then broke it by 0.03s in the final and later in the Diamond League final he ran 0.01s faster than his old personal best.

Imagine using this breakdown of the 100m as a breakdown for how you can manage your day. This should certainly be deadly. I think I'll do that. You will notice that your day is always like a 100m race in all it's glory. Think about it. This is going to be fun and great. Anyone else who sees this and wants to try it out?

Not as easy as it seems. Even with the successes of Lyles, Bednarek, De Grasse and Coleman. All that it really confirms is Glen Mills and his charges of Yohan Blake and Usain Bolt were once in several lifetime talents and no one has even remotely tasted the cusp of their respectively PBS. Lyles is the heir apparent, but WR isn’t something that’s so easy you can just say you want it and get it. Even Bolt likely never set out to do it.

I don't see Lyles getting much faster in the 100m, to be honest. Maybe he can drop a 9.7s high, but I doubt it, he seems to be near his peak. In the 200 m I don't see him running a 19.3s again, let alone breaking the WR.
@acetofresh1
@acetofresh1 7 ай бұрын
True, but sometimes it just happens. Unlike many of his competitors Lyles has such fundamentally sound technique, is very healthy and enjoys staying active. Can potentially go sub 19.4, but it does seem he peaks at 9.80 speed. Insane to think DeGrasse times from College are barely being hit today.@@Yes_I_c4n I don't enjoy saying what these generational talents CANT do.

The last 20-25m are often the deciding factor in whether you will win. Everything you try with the body to gain at least a little bit of speed fails because the body is limited. Fortunately, the mind is not! The best thing is to imagine that the finish line is approaching faster towards you, the feeling of going fast towards it is not enough because time seems to slow down and it goes on and on. In reality, it is very difficult to do because it takes less than 2s and the mind is oversaturated with desire and striving for victory, but it can be achieved by exercising the mind. Probably no one will say that he has reached his physical and technical limit and you always think that you can get at least a little more out of your body, but that doesn't happen because the limit really exists. The mind is then the only one that can give you a boost.

@@FREEZE_ftb_Gm yeah, but an in shape Coleman will get the better of the two 9 out of 10 times in a 100 m race. Only thing Coleman needs is to start in 6.35s (a good start, though not exceptional for Coleman) and he wins the race every time.

Noah, thanks for sharing your champion level knowledge and experience. You mentioned stride length and holding form in the final 20-30 meter's. Thanks' to genetics and fast twitch, I was almost always in front at about 60m ,but it felt like people found 'another gear' between 60 and 80m and went past me. Yes I am slightly shorter than most at 5' 10", but i thought it was my poor flexibility that held me back - i.e. slower top speed. Can you please give some hints on obtaining a 'higher' top speed between 50 and 80 meters?
