Absolutely awesome. It manages to encapsulate so many different struggles that children may be having whilst trying to find their place in this odd world of ours.

This video is simple and yet, meaningful. Short and yet, long-lasting. Slow paced but yet, intense. I can go on... It is a perfect metaphor of life: You can feel like a creep and yet, be beautiful. I hope you all have a happy-non-normal day!

Hi, you can talk to the counsellors about both of these things and about anything else at all. And you can also talk to other young people on our website message boards (where everyone supports each other). Having a look around the site can help you to find out what works for you but also please ask us any questions - www.childline.org.uk

The message is good, but I feel that comparing people to literal monsters is insulting and uncharitable. I'd go with an approach that portrays an individual feeling unworthy of others, but then finally seeing them in a different light, not as perfect and amazing all the time, and then he realises that "normal" is a relative word. We're all normal, and none of us are normal at the same time. Everyone is unique, even if not all of us are particularly exceptional. We don't need to be exceptional, we just need to respect our uniqueness and the uniqueness as others. Framing it as "people are literal monsters on the inside" feels like we're underestimating the intelligence of people, whether children or adults. We're not monsters, we're human beings.
@childline4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, the "creatures" are used to represent inner feelings, like anxiety and depression. Childline ran focus groups with young people to get their thoughts and ideas on which issues should be highlighted and how we could then show and represent these feelings. The campaign aims to debunk the word “normal” as we’re all different, therefore nobody is "normal". We want to help young people to understand that they shouldn’t be ashamed to talk about how they feel or to show who they are on the inside.
@theresawelch65584 жыл бұрын
Hi the AD is not referring that anyone is a monster its referring to their feelings inside
