Hi Sandra It's Annie thank you for this video your encouraging words are always welcomed and needed. It is a sad truth that no one really cares how you are or feel these days even family or close friends. There is an old saying the older generations always said it and I heard it a lot growing up....Cry and you cry alone....Laugh and the world laughs with you! how true it is!. I congratulate you on your lovely book too it looks very helpful and fun to read. I don't shop on the internet at present, is it available in shops? And you are looking fabulous so radiant and that lovely smile of yours is so welcoming, you are a true angel!

"Nobody really cares if you're miserable and you are 100% in charge of your life". Truer words have never been spoken. This explains how easy it is to find people to help us celebrate, but impossible to find people to walk through grief with us. Ultimately, we are responsible for our own happiness ~ no one else is. Thank you for this reminder, Sandra. You look wonderful. Stay sweet!

While sitting on my mat, all of a sudden I got overwhelmed by gratitude. I shall never forget that moment, to be honest I cherish that moment. I got so much touched. My travels have changed me too, esp traveling in India. Someone out there told me : focus on what you ‘have’ instead of what you don’t have. This touched my heart and soul, it is so much true. You are so right, D Young! I finally stopped defending myself to people. Now, I’m like crazed criminal Tuco in “Better Call Saul.” When the white boy twins came to his house (!) to insult his grandmother, he just let ‘em blather on. It’s a real time-saver. I believe in God’s justice.

P.S. Another example of not bothering to set people right was Alan Jackson on Jay Leno (years ago). Leno is dyslexic, and he kept promoting Jackson’s new album “Who I Am” as “Who Am I?” Each time he said it, AJ just smiled at the camera, secure that we fans knew the title. Classy.

Yesterday while having a heartfelt discussion with my son about happiness and life we came to the conclusion what is lacking is the "want" or reason to do better, be a better person. The question is How do you motivate yourself when you have no reason or goal? We decided; you make it up! You create reasons to do better, it doesn't matter if these reasons ever come to fruition, you simply use them as your motivator. We need to always be creating, this is the start... Then we talked about which is a stronger motivator; Love or Hate? And decided it's ok to start your creation (or goal) based on Hate (I'll show them) because that feeling eventually evolves into Love mainly for yourself. Bottom line; keep dreaming, keep thinking of situations, and do something physically to make yourself better in these scenarios. It will serve you in many ways.

I had not thought about it that way. 1. Smile like you mean it: that smile is contagious and it will radiate through in the mirror and it will radiate to someone else and when you smile it's amazing how many endorphins start rolling in your body and making you just a wee bit happier 2. Forget your diet: treat yourself to something that really makes you happy 3. Be grateful: all of us have something to really be grateful for and that does increase your happiness level when you think of all the things that you're grateful for and you don't concentrate on the negative things in your life 4, Live in the present: living in the now and in the moment is so important because when you don't do that you lose all of those precious moments in your life 5, Get inspired: try to remove yourself from your environment for just a little while or a day or two that really helps 6. Treat yourself to something nice: do something for yourself that really makes you happy and will increase your happiness level 7. Laugh 8. I am 70 years old and could not drive due to my anxiety. Just recently I chose to take a leap of faith and trust that I could possible do it so I drove one mile to Walmart. I was prepared that if I made it there and couldn’t get back home I would walk home. Thankfully I made it back! I could only stay in Walmart about 20 minutes because I was so anxious about getting back home. I was elated with myself that I did it, even though it was a baby step, it was a step. I have driven to that same Walmart one more time since. I am not ready to drive on a regular basis or get out on the main roads but I believe I will get there. It is amazing what we can accomplish, so much more than we thing. I don’t feel I will ever be able to get in an airplane or ride an elevator but I was able to pray my way through taking that short drive to Walmart. I just had to choose to give it a try. Anxiety can be totally debilitating, I have lived it for 50 years, but there is hope for small baby steps to more freedom. I just wanted to offer you hope and encouragement and let you know I truly understand what you are saying. Love, Sheila

Omg! Just read that you’re 82! I thought you were about 70. You look amazing and I love that you aren’t getting cosmetic procedures. It’s so phony and plastic looking. I’m 68 and just now found your channel. Good advice. I always try to act happy and I find when I do the feelings follow the action. I love smiling at strangers and when they smile back I feel a connection and it produces oxytocin and makes us feel good. Happiness is a choice.

I have found when tragedy happens to others (like in the condo collapse) ... in the early moments, hours and days - I often feel a sense of "guilt" due to loss of life and its inherent suffering; and, it often feels wrong to feel happy when others are suffering so severely ... 💔

I've had some challenges pop up this month- friend passed, car troubles, freezer broke, husband had to travel internationally for work, twisted my ankle, all while taking care of kids and pets. I've reframed these problems: the cars broke and were replaced and/or fixed before my husband left the country, and we had the means to do so which was good. My freezer meat will be fully cooked in advance of our next meals (to preserve the meat that otherwise would have been lost). My ankle is forcing me to rest and have the kids do more chores with the pets which builds responsibility. And, while I will miss my husband's presence the next few weeks I can use my evenings and weekends in new ways for a bit by seeing friends. I still have grief for losing my friend, but I just read the last text she sent me for comfort because it was her declaring me a friend for life, and I'll keep that with me forever. Anyway, I loved your video and you are right it is up to me to make myself happy so I'm not going to let these circumstances bother me anymore. I am going to put on some British comedies while I cook the freezer meat and order your book, which will certainly cheer me up as I rest my leg! Thank you, Sandra!

Thank you so much for sharing your positive responses to life as it happens. Life is never static is it? We have hiccups disappointments, losses, and a myriad of other things that are constantly evolving as we live. It is up to us to accept life and find a ray of positivity in everything that happens. Loss of friends and dear ones is especially hard, but knowing that a piece of your heart has them held safely there gives them life within us. Thank you again for sharing your wonderful positivity in outlook on life. We each can learn from you

Hi Sandra, there are so many terrible tragedies around the world every day. It was so horrible what happened in Florida and also here at home where an entire small town and villages around burned to the ground and took two lives with it. Every day we are bombarded with these kinds of things and the people around us also come with their own sad tales. I find some people have lived for decades and they still haven't learned any tools for remaining positive and moving forward. Life today is very challenging but is made worse when we choose to wallow in it or if not wallow it is equally bad when we don't try and do something to change things for the better. Sometimes it can be a long while before we get out of a bad situation so I do understand how challenging it can be to be patient and remain optimistic. I'm so glad you've taken time to share with people how we can find happiness for ourselves. We all need tools and also reminders. Have a wonderful weekend ahead.
@lifewithsandrahart3 жыл бұрын
To lose an entire village is just as tragic as this collapse that we had here in Florida. Sometimes you wonder why things happen like this. We just have to live for today and enjoy and be grateful for what we have. Prayers for all those who are suffering or have lost their lives and such tragedies❤️
