This show is so good! You can’t miss “Queen Charlotte” In between seasons 2 and 3. It’s a prequel to explain queen Charlotte’s life. I have never cried so hard than when I watched Queen Charlotte.

This series is based on a series of romance novels. Each book is based on a romance trop like enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, etc. So as another commenter said, once you've identified the trope the enjoyment comes from the journey.

Hey! Great reaction! I can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of the season(s)! Just to clarify a few things: Episode 1: The men weren't staying away from Daphne because of what Whistledown had said, but because Anthony was being a cock-block. He wouldn't let Daphne dance with anyone at her first ball, immediately scared away anyone who dared come to talk to her, ushered her out the door early, and was even getting in the way of the few men who did come to call. Whistledown only reported the lack of interest after the fact (which then served to compound it, once everyone read it). As a general rule, Whistledown doesn't make stuff up. She just reports what she sees and what's already being talked about. Episode 2: Daphne's mom wasn't lying to her, telling her everything would be fine. She wants her daughter to have a love match too, and she knows Nigel is a POS. But at that point, they don't think Daphne has any other choice, so she's just trying to make the best of it. Telling her that the rest of her life is going to suck wouldn't help Daphne, plus she already knows that. So her mom is trying to encourage her, saying that there can still be good things to look forward to, even in this less than ideal situation

Anthony is absolutely the worst. He ruins Daphne's chancces with every man who tries to court her and he's so hypocritical about Simon. Lady Whistledown is actually largely truthful. As much as people blame her, she only reports what's happening, as far as she's able to do so.

The costuming in this show is not accurate. Women those days wore those big volominous hoop skirts thats even bigger at the back. The narrator (Whistledown) is none other than the legendary Julie Andrews. The UK peerage ranking is as follows: 1) Duke (usually royalty or nobility) 2) Marquess 3) Earl (the late Princess Diana is the daugher of an Earl and referred to as a "commoner") 3) Viscount (as per the Bridgertons) 4) Baron (as per the Featheringtons) They are hereditary and pass on only to a male heir. Hence the obsessions to have sons. The youngest sister is Hyacinth, there is another sister not seen yet.

You're correct that the costuming isn't period accurate, but not in the way you said. Hoop skirts didn't come in until more than 30 years after this, and the bustle (the thing that makes it bigger in the back) were 60 years after this (the 1870's and 80's). The silhouettes are generally period appropriate- it's the fabric, detailing, and other embellishments that aren't accurate
