Storm water not sewage. But it's interesting how visitors might misconstrue something as simple as that. Urban designers should take note.
@thekiwinomad6 ай бұрын
Agreed. Stormwater pipework will run into streams or rivers hence why there is alot of restrictions around what can go into stormwater. Sewage and trade waste will go into a wastewater treatment plant. We DO NOT pipe raw sewage or wastewater into our waterways. There been alot of work done around protecting water ways and what runs into them.

it's not sewage going into the stream, it will be a storm water pipe

Wanaka is what Queenstown was like 40 years ago before it went tourist crazy. 40 years ago Wanaka was a nice quiet place with a camping ground and a pub and not a lot more. That's not sewage going into the creek, it's just for rainwater runoff.

Wanaka became the kiwi choice after Queenstown sold its soul to the tourist gold rush. But Queenstown paid dearly during lockdown.

What a beautiful view when yous went back to see the tree in the water. The tree was a bit of a build ups but the view of the sun setting over the water made up for it. Pity you's didn't have a glass of wine. What a lovely setting.

Watching & enjoying your uploads since you guys arrived in NZ, even staying near my hometown (Mount Maunganui/Tauranga). Not a bad thing, but from your first upload til now you're both looking physically heavier but healthier.😁

Really at it's busiest over winter, for skiing. I've never understood why people would like to live in Wanaka - lovely to visit, but sooo expensive. I have spent many a good new year there when I was young, though! Best restaurant there is Francescas ❤

Those pipes would be storm water drainage not sewage. It's illegal to pipe sewage into waterways in NZ. It has to be discharged 1/2 a kilometer out to sea for areas that don't have treatment plants.
