I love this mod and I even had the pleasure to play multiplayer with the developer himself! So I'd like to point out some stuff about this game that could be missed. 1) 0:01 This mod was released to Steam, but for Copyright reasons it got deleted. 2) 0:13 Most textures in this game are default textures for Half-Life 2 or other textures but with a comic-like filter on top of it. So the game looks smooth and friendly even in the darkest areas. 3) 0:45 Those noises weren't made by the developers but were taken from a famous video around that era called: "Strange Faces and Noises I Can Make IV" by "UndoTube" on 2007 (The mod was made on 2009, at least the Beta). 4) 2:09 That's right, the game has auto-bunny hopping enabled, no fall damage and no cap for speed. But with the cost of not being able to strafe. Which being honest you wouldn't need much here and will broke the game so it's a win-win. This mechanics are used for Speedrunning in this game. Currently the world record is 14 minutes with 54 seconds by "snowi", but usually the game lasts in the first blind playthrough around 1-2 hours (3 hours if you're not used to FPS or Source engine's games). 5) 5:48 In this first trial you don't need to eat all of the meat to complete it, but if you do you'll do a big buuurp which annoys the great wizard. 6) 7:15 The great wizard is a 3D representation of a Tesseract (A 4 dimensional cube). 7) 7:48 The singleplayer campaign doesn't add all the weapons that are in the mod. Inside the console if you put "impulse 101" you can get a revolver with the same damage and power as the original one. And in past versions also a sniper rifle, which was very good, but with the fast-paced gameplay it was almost impossible to use. 8) 10:17 Klems (The original author) made some videos years ago with landmines and some other stuff that finally didn't make the cut. But it's pretty sure that he doesn't have the energy to make a sequel for this game (He has an adult life now), even more when he knows it is gonna probably be removed after by copyright or not satisfy the fans. But what players can do is play older versions of the game (Bisonours Party), which expand the gamemodes and styles of the game, being more cursed and offensive (Like pedobear, drugs, etc...). I highly recommend it to people if they enjoyed the singleplayer campaign. I could add more information, but I think that investigating and playing by yourself is much better hehe If you have anything to say about trivia, you can do it below, and if you have questions I'll try to answer them too!

The fact that this mod was apparently made by one person when they were a teenager, and Overcharged was made by multiple cretins... Honestly I'm gobsmacked at the quality on display.

It was actually made a few people back then (around 10), in 2007/2008, as a multiplayer game. It was remade in 2013 by a new team with the help of one of the original developers, Klems. Then around late 2018, Klems teamed up with another original developer to help him with programming and some assets and together they created this single-player campaign with the already existing assets. Here's what Klems had to say: "We had a group of friends on a French forum called "Le Site du Zéro" which was initially dedicated to web design and goldsrc level design. Yes it's a weird combination, this site has been rebranded now as "OpenClassrooms" and only focus on programmation I believe. We originally got the idea to mock a friend of ours on this forum as a sort of "wouldn't it be funny if we did this", so we did. I think we were around 16 or 17 at the time, so that must have been around 2008, most likely earlier. The very first screenshots on moddb are dated from 2008 so it checks out. We originally envisioned the mod as a multiplayer arena shooter with carebears with roots from quake/unreal tournament and basically whatever dumb/slightly offensive shit we could come up with. That was basically the idea. It was called Bisounours Party, as Bisounours is the French name for Care Bears. Bear Party Adventure was much later. I think we were around 10 people in the devteam, with some people going in and out as mod teams usually do. We tried updating it afterward but we overall quickly lost motivation and the team died out around that time. The following release from 2013 is from a different team entirely, which only had something like 2 or 3 people. They thought the mod was a cool idea and wanted to carry on the torch, so to speak. So the mod got updated/remade to a new engine branch and got new mechanics/gamemodes. I helped a bit at that time with a few maps for the new gamemodes. Right so that leaves us with Bear Party: Adventure. In between 2017 to 2019 I was somewhat active as a level designer on RTSL mapping competitions, for standard singleplayer HL2. I stopped modding for a long time (5 years!) and re-started again (not sure why, I think I was bored out of my mind). I got some experience with singleplayer (and some success) from it, so I decided to revisit this old mod, as a full blown singleplayer campaign. I think I started late 2018/early 2019 and released late 2019, so around 1 year of development. I got help from one of the original team members (called Grogir) with some assets/programming but I'm mostly responsible for the whole campaign level design wise. The game has an "Adventure" suffix because it's a singleplayer campaign, an adventure. I don't consider it a sequel to the original multiplayer mod."

Bisounours Party! This started life waaaaay back in 2007 as a Half-life 2 Deathmatch mod (hell you could even play as p***bear judging from older screenshots) but long after it's final release in 2011 the devs dusted off the SDK and made Bisounours Party Adventure as a SP experience utilizing concepts from the Multiplayer Mod, hence the bunnyhopping and first-person ragdolling on deaths. It also had a brief stint on steam but some drama shenanigans got it removed. Thankfully it's still very much playable via MODDB!

This game remains one of my favorite mods to this day. With such cute cartoony graphics, you could really get a fun mod that steps away from the dark world of Half-Life. There's also a multiplayer mod which came before this, but like with most multiplayer mods, that one's playerbase seemed to decline, as I could barely find any running servers for it. I know that Bisounours Party Adventure has some deathmatch maps as well but no servers are on most of the time. I guess we couldn't be the original Half-Life putting both singleplayer and multiplayer. I feel like a sequel for Adventure would be fit, but I think we need to get more multiplayer games going.
