FYI the manual override button is used if the battery you are attempting to charge, is less than 2 volts. But just remember, the override button disables the safety devices on the booster.

So I bought this because this is exactly the make/model the CAA guy showed up with to boost my SUV. (CAA is the Canadian version of AAA in USA). I wanted to laugh when he pulled this tiny thing out, but it worked!! And my battery was 90% dead. I had every expectation this was gonna fail. After I had to ask questions. CAA guy said I needed at least the 1500A model for a standard small to mid SUV (though he had the 2000A /GB70 as seen in this video). I asked if he could boost a RAM 1500 with the GB70/2000A he had and he said “yeah, no problem do it every day. 2000A yeah, 1500A no on a truck”. I got mine (GB70 2000A) at Canadian Tire (in-store special + 1 Yr exchange warranty), though Amazon Canada has them too. I haven’t tried it yet, just sharing what I know. Great vid, thanks.

I’m very pleased with it. I have the Noco and several other off brands. They all seem to work. Some better than others, but the Noco seems more durable and built to last. It’s really hard to compare actual performance.

I want to know, once its fully charged, how long willit keep that charge while it sits in my freezing truck all winter? Will it stay charged for a week? A month? All winter?
@nauy2 жыл бұрын
I stored it in the trunk of my car for over a year. After using it one time to jump my dad’s car it still has 3 of the 4 lights lit or 75% full. My car is garaged most of the time. If you leave your car outside in the winter then it’d better to keep it inside and only take with you when you use your car. One thing to be aware of is that the power button and the light button are on top of the battery. Make sure nothing is resting on the battery or it or the light gets accidentally turned on and drains the battery. Better to keep it in the original box or get a hard case.
@ThriftyGarage2 жыл бұрын
I would recommend checking the battery life on a monthly basis. You will probably want to recharge every 3-6 months.

Nice video. I just bought one myself. Thankfully haven’t had to use it but bought it for emergency. Just wanted to point out in my user Manual the exclamation symbol you pointed as an error is actually an override feature and the error light is the one near the power button. At least that’s what I read from my user Manual.

Hook up the clamps. Push the power button. Then start the vehicle. Simple as that! These jump packs are smart so the battery does need to have some juice for them to "see" the battery. They also sense if you are hooked up backwards.

One quick question, i bought this. They were some cheaper ones but i got the kinda most expensive. This means this is just for heavy equipment trucks and vehicles. Or can it also be used to any car/vehicle of any motor size/ engine? Thanks in advance
@ThriftyGarage4 жыл бұрын
It will work with smaller 12v cars. But the little jumpers won’t turn over a larger engine. Going overkill isn’t a bad idea. You will jump a small car more times off one charge. Or if you don’t use it for a couple of years and deplete the battery it will probably still be able to jump your car. Whereas the smaller pack would fail you. Hope that makes since.

i have a toyota highlander... will this work or it has to be diesel?
@ThriftyGarage3 жыл бұрын
It would work. Diesels require more cranking amps which require a larger jump starter. For your Highlander you could purchase a smaller jump starter to save on cost. But a larger jump starter would have more juice and be able to assist in starting more times between charging.

It didn’t start. The actual problem was the starter went out. It was odd, in this case it went clean kaput; working one moment to dead the next. New starter fixed me right up. I’ve used this to jump start my 4Runner, a Bobcat T650 skid steer and several other vehicles.
