I want to see a review on those 20Ah expert power models on amazon after seeing reviews noting that the BMS is not shutting of when the voltage drops to low.

It's always good to hear a company respond back when you have found an issue with their product. Especially when you made a video about it and they saw your video. Great information Jeremy! Thank you!

I’ve been running this battery (single 10 ah) with a Garmin 93sv for over a year now. I’ve had no issues, but have not been on the water for more than 6 hours at a time. As a battery dedicated only to the fish finder, it’s been good for me. This was my beginner battery, and it was very easy to hook up. Because it’s so small, finding a spot in the kayak was easy

I’m new to all this. I have a Old Town PDL 120 and a Helix 9. I got the Nocqua 10ah because folks said it was great…I only get 4.5hrs out of it. Now I’m looking at a DL 18 or 23….I want to fish all day without worrying. Looks like I should’ve found your channel sooner…I would’ve saved some money.

Running the 20ah, love it, very light and compact. Run it with 7SV and pretty much can run it for two days average of 8hours each day and coming back at 75ish % left on the battery. Pricey but it’s worth it.

Hello sir , always a pleasure to see what you have ! I don’t know if you’ll remember where I said in one of the comments that I build packs from 18650’s the smallest one I have is a 3p8s and their all moli cells 4.2 nominal and I can get about 26Wh on a full charge and it’s not bad at all ! Thank you 🙏 for service and also for all the hard work you do for us before we get out their and buy one ?

Per my wife: I don't kayak, end of story. Really enjoy your channel. I fish a 12' aluminum V-hull. Upgrading soon to something a little bigger. I currently using a 100AH AGM for two 9" graphs, 12volt T/M and LiveScope. Looking at possible 24v or 36v Dakota for the T/M only. And considering a isolated LiFePO4 battery for electronics.

I replaced my Nocqua with an 18Ah Amped for my Helix 7. Couldn’t be happier, yes it’s larger but I don’t suffer from image quality (low voltage) and can run almost 3 trips. Bonus was the Amped was not much more $.

Simple boost/buck converters are very useful, but come with an efficiency cost. I run my fish-finder (Raymarine Dragonfly 7) off a 2nd life scooter battery, but I power the 3 watt aerator for my Frabill 19-quart bait station using a simple 12v-3v buck converter, which is connected via XT30 plug to one of my 12v trolling motor batteries (100ah LiFePO4). There are so many different ways to skin a cat and many of them are far superior to the old lead-acid or alkaline solutions we all grew up with. You got 3.6 more hours worth of run-time, even after efficiency losses, using the boost converter on that small battery. ($40 is outrageous for that part...I paid $12 for the one I'm using and it's waterproof.) It's also worth mentioning that 3S Li-NMC or "Lithium-Ion" battery cells are nowhere near as good for creating a 12v lead-acid replacement as a 4S LiFePO4 solution.

I run a Pelican Catch 110 HDII that's all decked out. I'm looking for a compact battery to run my Livescope and gopro that will fit a 4" hatch to leave it inside the hull. I happened to stumble upon your video! I am looking to go with the 20ah though for longer use on a day.

Thanks for the video. Got a question or two for you. Do you know the safe output for this battery, could it handle 60w? Also do you know the name of the connector that they use? I asked them and they weren’t able to tell me.

I've had two of these batteries and both of them died before reaching 2 years. They are practical for kayak and small boats, but unfortunately they don't last 😢. You pay for a well packed battery, ready out of the box, not for durability.

Wish I'd found your site BEFORE I bought a battery for my new Garmin fish finder...! Tried running it off my old 7 ah. lead/acid battery, but only getting a few hours run time. It had worked all day in my Titan 'Yak before, but that was with the little Lowrance 7" finder. Then got a 20 ah. LiFePo from Amazon, but can't find a case small enough to fit it in the same place as my old battery was sitting. New batt. too big to fit a 5.56 mm plastic ammo box, and that was what I was using for the lead acid batt. Got a meter for the new batt., and wanted to incorporate it in the box as well (if I ever FIND one, that is!). Any suggestions?

If I were you, I would go with the Amped 15Ah. It's LiFeP04 and it is the same size as your old 7Ah lead acid battery! ampedoutdoors.com/collections/lifepo4-battery/products/15ah-lithium-battery-lifepo4?aff=8

Great job on your video. I just purchased a Nocqua 20ah battery with 12v regulator, split cable and a dual port usb connection. This is going to run my Lowrance Hook Reveal 7 fish finder on my Hobie PA. I know absolutely nothing about battery maintenance. Do I need to discharge my battery and if so what do you recommend I use to do this. Thank you very much for your time.

lithium batteries don't really need battery maintenance. It is more important for the longevity of the battery to store in around 50% charged. Most battery companies recommend 30 to 70% so 50% is a good aiming point.

Those Nocqua connections get bad and wear out after a while. I had to replace mine because my unit was cutting out due to the bad connection.

would a buck converter work as a regulator to keep voltage even?
@iceholepower8012
@iceholepower8012 2 жыл бұрын
I am not 100% sure a buck converter would, I would have to look at the specs. I bet some would and others would have an output voltage range.
