This watch is another good example of what microbrands can do! This is how a day date complication is supposed to be in my opinion, functional but tastefully integrated into the design and not obtrusive. I like the dial colour a lot! However for me it does not really work with the black coated bezel, which is why I'd prefer the uncoated stainless steel bezel. The bracelet looks very well finished but for me the H-link bracelet of the previous model better suited a pilots' watch. Excellent review mate!

Thank you very much! I couldn't agree more, they set the bar high for a quality day and date incorporation (perfect individually and together). I enjoyed this combo but will probably go with the uncoated SS bezel as well. I am partial to this bracelet but don't think you can go wrong with either. I'll be dropping another video in the next couple days showing a detailed comparison between the two generations. Cheers

Superb review. I watched. I bought. When my wife asks about a new watch, I now blame you! :)

Nice thorough review. Maybe I’ll get the V1 for tomorrow. I’m really looking forward their new custom clasp that will premiere on the new Avalon.

Thank you! I'm excited about the new clasp as well. With the Pilot, I'm a big fan of the new bracelet and will be reluctantly moving my V1 on to get one. Cheers

Great review, can i ask how you would compare Nodus to Zelos, who offers the better quality pound for pound? The Nodus to me looks a little better finished for the money? Thanks
@JonathanTReviews2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! It's truly hard to answer that one, and largely will be subjective. I have much more experience with Zelos (many models and variations), so I'm more fully informed in that direction. I've enjoyed the Nodus watches I've owned/handled. Much like Zelos, I think they pack good value. I've also climbed higher price points and refinement with Zelos and therefore have seen a broader picture of what they can do. Dollar for dollar, I personally lean Zelos in finishing/bang for buck with the huge caveat that you really can't go wrong with either brand and get a lot for your money going either direction. At the end of the day, I'd make my choice between the two based on which specific watch offering spoke to me moreso than perceived value, as both offer a lot. I hope this helps. Cheers

Nice watch love the long hands and especially the long second hand. The way most watches should in my opinion. Price is too high.
@JonathanTReviews2 жыл бұрын
They did an awesome job with the hands! I think you get a fair amount for the money, but it's on the upper end for many NH based watches. Cheers

@@JonathanTReviews Yeah - usually a bevel edge is.... aight... but w/ the single dome - brilliant!

It’s very good looking! But that NH movement is cheap and makes it too fat for a $500 pilot watch, in my view.
@JonathanTReviews2 жыл бұрын
Fair point. I think this model having a day/date complication is likely a limiting factor. Were it just a date, I would have provided the same feedback (similar to the RZE Fortitude). They do at least balance things somewhat by including the four position regulation and they're otherwise rock solid (albeit limited frills) movements. Cheers

If only it had an unidirectional divers bezel instead
@JonathanTReviews Жыл бұрын
I think you'd be pleasantly surprised with the bidirectional friction bezel. It holds well enough for typical countdown taste and is quick to set. Cheers
@d3xmeister7 ай бұрын
@@JonathanTReviewsAnd the bezel has 2 tiny screws which you can use to adjust the friction. Edit: I don’t see the screws in your video, mine absolutely has them at 12 and 6 in the side of the bezel. Mine is the latest version which reverted to H-Link and the markers on the dial now they don’t have a frame, again
@JonathanTReviews7 ай бұрын
Interesting. They must have changed it. I don't remember seeing screws, though it's been a while. Cheers
