@@Gennovense There may be some nostalgia in my original statement as I was a teenager in the 90's, but it was pre-internet and mobile phones (both were around but still in their infancy compared to today's world where you can't live without both). Something changed in society in general around 2003-2005. Was it the internet and smart phones becoming more prevalent? Perhaps, but having experienced life pre and post internet (I'll be the last generation who will have experienced both) I can assure you there was more social cohesion and everyone was happier pre-mainstream internet. @@GennovenseNo. You are lucky enough if you play guitar and listen nice music. It’s a general saying from people born in 80’s, early 90’s. Now it’s never been better time to learn to play guitar. It was painful in 80’s to be able to play everything by ear when songs are so complicated. Now you got everything. 80’s 90’s had their difficulties, that you wouldn’t wanna be there growing up as well… What you live is the moment, and enjoy the presence. Maybe light it up, and get a nice guitar and keep on.

Knebworth in 96 was the peak. It was a time where people and technology where in a state of equilibrium. Despite their talent and drive, it's debatable if divine intervention played a part, as a few years north or south, who knows what would of been. It must feel strange for artist when they reach the top. I can imagine it's an empty feeling knowing you can't play the next big gig because they've done it all. And they did so in a very short period. After that it must turn into a business or a corporate machine with departments and offices. The very thing they despise. Lennon in an interview said, the people have enough of the establishment. So they knock it down then rebuild, only to become the establishment.

Apart from being one of the most recognised songwriters in music history, who's b sides are better than most bands released works. Yeh, what's noel gallagher done, every songwriter has their period, his current music is perfectly fine but not many people have made the contribution to music that Noel Gallagher has, there's a handful of people who have done that. His songs defined an era in british music, that's an absolutely massive achievement, you don't need to be consistently relevant to have made history.
