@@robbingcars9140 it depends on where you are/go, there are places in Frankfurt that are downright beautiful and places that make you reconsider ever going there again. I've been to both and while the good outweigh the bad, some places I never want to go to again

The airport guy insisting on saying 'bye' was him maintaining courtesy lol. We care quite a bit about being polite, so saying please/thank you goodbye/hello etc. regardless of the situation. Not that I would consider him a nice person but in general we're just really blunt, dry people who wanna avoid chitchatting with strangers as much as possible and it can come across as mean to visitors.

Also people generalising the US when each state is different, you can actually say that about any country in the world, I’m from France and of course the culture is gonna differ north to south and west to east.
