How did I not notice that the captain Crash and Pops found is the same person the AI was asking Sammie for. Also, so much of VEE’s lines are ones we heard whenever members of Fixer Team were hallucinating those flickers and pixies. As well as Jack saying Spectre here as he did when Peanut hallucinated of him in the pipe room. Man this has probably got to be the biggest lore drop we got so far in these extra videos, maybe even in the entirety of Crash so far!

"Checkmate" is obviously referring to the administrative AI that consults with the Director, the man we meet in ///AnotherIron. "The Gate" is something I'm a little less sure about. Given the snippets of conversations we see here, it looks to be some sort of code name for a very important asset. If I had to hazard a guess, likely a Forerunner structure or construct of some sort, especially since ONI has its grubby little mitts all over this. "The Gate was the plan, the only hope.", whatever it is, it's likely why there's a joint UNSC/Sangheli operation in the area. "Director", self-explanatory. What caught my eye, though, is the comments below that entry. "Director said THE GATE would bring peace..." "Knowledge, our birthright - she always said that" "She always lied." "He promised. He lied." "Knowledge. A birthright from an ancient civilization." -Dr. Catherine Halsey. My guess is that Vee had a rather unfortunate encounter with her and learned the thing everyone learns when they deal with Halsey: that she's a ruthless, lying woman. It looks like they might have placed their faith in The Director later on in the hopes that he would be different, only to have the same thing happen again. Which unfortunately tracks for anyone involved with ONI. "ONI" "Demons" Again, not too hard to figure out. ONI is of course, ONI. The Demons part is a little trickier. Master Chief was of course called Demon by the Covenant, and certain particularly troublesome SPARTANs also earned that moniker. So does this mean that some SPARTANs were sent after Specter team? Or could "Demons" in this context refer to agents of ONI, operatives and such who investigated and silenced Specter team? Regardless, it seems that Specter team got wrapped up in something they wanted to back out of, but couldn't. Then things got ugly. So many questions, so many clues. And most of all, how does our little crew factor into it?

He does have a similar voice to target.... Silly idea at 2 am and damaged memory time! vvvvvvvvvvvvv My money is on Pindleton/Target being involved with the AI/Spectre. Just putting on a country boy accent. Off the top of my head, he wasnt targeted by the sammy, it shot at Crash behind the cover rather than him (Target's) and his cover. Target seemed to be putting on a dim understanding of the danger they were in when being shot by the Sammy, but was quick on the draw and went full soldier mode when Crash and him thought they were being hunted during S&R. He just so happened to be found armor locked near an important thingy that reactivated the AI at the base. Which we have not seen react to him or vice versa, just a matter of time till one finds out about the other. Also, I don't think it is likely. But it is fun to consider that Target reported that his team came to find him after he 'wandered off' after hearing the AI. All I am wondering now is if he is aware that he is involved or not... Assuming my ravenous, half asleep guess work is anywhere close.
