I don't think it's unrealistic. I think it would have to be much less than 20 accounts however. Drop it to 4 or 5. Enough for main, and each ironman and then like a pvp character. But I don't think Jagex will, that's alot of money on the line for them, and we were lucky to get osrs as well as a dev team behind it.

Honestly when I made the changeover with an account I've had for an indeterminate amount of time but long enough that it was the pre-email era of RS and couldn't log in despite knowing my password, I panicked. Spent the next two hours or so looking for information on the account conversion to figure out legacy account like mine could be "lost in escrow" for a few hours for the lack of a better word. I would say it's ultimately worth it to help keep track of accounts. Can't tell you how many baby pures I've lost over the years even with writing their info down.

If your Jagex launcher account gets hacked, at that point you almost deserve it because that would be pretty hard to pull off if you possess common sense. Just create a fresh email for it that no one knows with strong passwords and 2FA on everything, and you'll be completely secure with how the new account system works. I've had no problems at all and the migrating process was pretty straight forward. It's in beta, but it might as well be the final product with how smooth/bug-free it is. IMO it's worth upgrading and securing your account now, before anything might potentially happen between now and the time when it becomes a mandatory system.

That is just the jagex launcher in general. I dont have a jagex account but the launcher frequently kicks me out of the game and unlinks all of my accounts, requiring me to switch to normal runelite launcher, which i couldnt do if i had a jagex account.

It's not the launcher being bad. Also, you can still load runelite outaide the launcher without a jagex account. I did it a couple days ago.

Been using the jamflex account manager and got to say it’s so much more easier to play the game for five mins here or 30 mins there where before I could be bothered to manually type all my details in to get the password wrong and just get fed up and end up not playing.. one click and runelite is open with any of my accounts then just one more click to start playing. There's an option to use Runelite beside the play button on the launcher just switch from official client to RuneLite , the Launcher gives the option to use RuneLite .

I just tried it on mobile, it’ll take you to the jagex account log in screen and you go through the verification process for example they send a code to your email, you copy the code and verify. Afterwards you’re able to log in through mobile without entering your login and password again, just by clicking your character name on login screen.

I'm pretty sure if you get banned your Jagex acc would be banned since its a TOS violation. Also it technically wouldn't be better to detect bots since a bot program can run on a mouse hardware emulator and use API as screen over lay with each instance running in a vm as different ip address. all they would have to do is add miss clicks and jitter buffer to mouse moment it will never be detected. you could even go as far as using a 2nd pc with self learning AI a camera and 4 motor mouse moving macro to completely keep software detection protocols from detecting it. (and no a multi million dollar illegal botting industry could afford it) also "yes" this technology is already out there its nothing new just becoming more available and you too can search it if curios "how anti cheat has evolved hackers" is the subject. I am going to write this here cause the redditards of r/Runescape keep deleting this. Do not make a Jagex account, it doesn't makes a new RS character that you can play runescape with, all it does is an account that can't log in into the fucking game, I already tried it twice, went to the website did email X and password Y, named the character Z (1 out of 20 characters) when I go to the RS client it says invalid login, tried the same with the Jagex launcher and all it does is to launch the RS launcher which then fails to recognize the accounts made, twice. People are saying all the time that their accounts are being deleted, lost, gone, fuck this shit.

Do NOT upgrade to jagex account. It's the biggest pain in the ass. If anything happens with 1 account, they ban ALL of your accounts. They also force you to auth EVERYTIME you login.
