I love this reveal. No-one expected it. It is how a reveal should be instead of everyone screaming ken, geno, inceneroar before a video and then when the first frame shows already knowing who it is before it is actualy revealed. There's Sakurai, the only man so far who was able to bring Cloud, Snake, Megaman and Mario under the same roof, he has very few limits to who he can bring in outside of his own will. I hope he can use his magic to convice Square Enix to let him put more F.F. content as dlc though : Sephiroth as a fighter, Zack Fair as Cloud's echo and at least 10 new music tracks and 5 more spirits would be fine.

Joker wasn't my first idea for a DLC fighter, though I have to assume that has more to do with the fact that I barely knew Persona 5 existed at that point. Hero from Dragon quest was a weird pick too. Banjo wasn't exactly unexpected in and of itself, but the same direct as Hero? And I don't believe people were readying their Neo-Geo-s and their copies of Fatal Fury in preparation for this month's direct either.

Piranha Plant has been in practically every Mario game one way or another, which already makes it more relevant than the other three combined. And Shadow doesn't get respected by his own company, so why should he get in Smash?

It's honestly part of the reason I pre-ordered my copy digitally, so I would get it for free. If there's any character that I genuinely want in Smash right now, it's Euden from Dragalia Lost. The game has a lot of amazing music, has sold really well, and Euden has a lot of opportunities for a really fun moveset.

It's strange for Piranha Plant to be a fighter. Petey Piranha would make more sense since he's a bigger character. But it's like having Goomba or Koopa as a fighter. They aren't very big characters other than a small enemy in the game. Bowser is added because he's a big character. He's not just an enemy. That's not with Waluigi. Since Waluigi and Geno are legit characters and not just something put into a stage like a Piranha Plant.

Btw, semi off topic, but if geno ever actually got in (extremely unlikely) I think he'd be better with mallow with him as a duo fighter like duck hunt or ice climbers, their moveset being a celebration of mario RPG instead of just celebrations of them.
