Nice report. The domestic terminal in Cairns looks really nice. And I remember seeing some of the Great Barrier Reefs too. It's a beautiful coastline seen from the air. It was really cool to see. Nice video and report like always.

Great video, Jayden. The lounge food selection seemed reasonably good even if you couldn't pick it up yourself. I was surprised how full the flight was given how quiet the terminal and lounge seemed. I like the remodel of the terminal; much nicer than it was. Thanks for sharing the great takeoff views out of Cairns. Also, it was nice Qantas changed your ticket to reroute you given the current situation. Stay safe!

Yep in the lounge, the staff bringing the food to your table means more personalised service 😝 Yep pretty much everyone in the terminal was on the same flight haha. I was surprised by the renovated terminal, I didn't know that it had been renovated so it was a nice surprise! Thanks Mike!

Because of COVID and Qantas currently not flying internationally it'll be at least a year before we can come down from the States to get to Perth to see family. I appreciate your current flight videos to keep us a little up to date as to how Qantas is conducting the domestic flights for now. Hopefully things will be much better by August of 2021!! Cheers!

Really enjoyed the trip report - I've never been to Cairns. The departure footage was very nice. Being down the back of the plane is always good especially if you have a fairly big carry on bag - you can be sure of getting space in the overhead bins!

Loved that Aussie as announcement! And good to see that CNS airport has been updated (but I haven't visited an a while). Landing on the new runway at BNE give a bit of a different view. Really gross amount of dirt on the seats. No cleaning/disinfecting planes between flights? Nice-looking cake, particularly compared with the dry crackers and salsa from your other more recent post. Awhile back, I was flying Delta from Milwaukee to San Diego, and my seatmate said she thought the best way to get flights boarded and disembarked efficiently would be to use the doors at the front and back of the plane (particularly on smaller aircraft). Looks like that works pretty well when possible. $143US one-way seems a bit expensive for a short flight, especially given the lack of cleanliness. How does QANTAS compare with the competition? Thanks for your usual great report! 😁

I guess not :( The flight came late from Brisbane and had a very short turnover time. Yep the cake was so much nicer than the crackers last week😝 And yes boarding & disembarking via rear doors really speed things up. Qantas and Virgin started doing this in 2015 and each aircraft can now fly at least one more flight per day and delays minimised. There's very little competition especially since the pandemic began... There's Virgin and Qantas only. Jetstar too but it's part of the Qantas group. Flying within Australia will only get more expensive but regional airlines like REX and Alliance are trying to take some more slices of the domestic market shares. Thanks Britton, gday!

Back to the back of the bus for the cool kids! The big thing about the terminal at Cairns airport that I do not like is that there are no windows looking out to the planes or runways. Not much natural light unless you get into the Qantas lounge. Another great trip report. Thanks for sharing. I love flying out of Cairns with the view of the islands and reefs below. So cool.

Excellent trip report, I'm still avoiding myself to fly on any airline. I think QF should does a physical-distancing in any areas in my opinion, even if Queensland is safe and green zone. Physical distancing in my country is strictly enforced.

In most parts in Australia people don't wear masks anywhere including on a plane. I've flown to domestically twice now and so far so good! This is because places we're allowed to fly to are covid-safe/free. States with local transmissions, even just around 10 a day have their borders closed. Thanks for watching!

Great review. I understand that qantas had to shut down the In flight entertainment system and the Wifi to save some money due to the pandemic. The pandemic has had a huge impact on the aviation this year. You were lucky to have sat in the back row. Sitting in the back row would allow you to look at the winglet and looking at the Great Barrier Reef.
