I love this episode. The roundtable conversations are the best. I'm just glad that it's a sensible conversation. I've seen the nasty parts of the world. I'm glad this factual conversation has been recorded the use of the tool is to stop the threat. No gun owner wants to ever use their weapon to take a life. The fact that your friends can have this conversation without being unreasonable is refreshing.

That was a great Anti-gun Round Table segment. You called his BS and made him really think about the scenario...a scenario that happens everyday in Sacrament, Stockton, LA, Oakland. etc (unfortunately i'm in California) as well as other major cities across the US. Being able to find that "Ah ha!" moment in someone who is anti-gun is super important and I think you got 75% of that table re-thinking their stance. Bravo Zulu Colion!

I enjoy the anti-gun round table so much with season 5. I think you are hitting on the topics that many refuse to listen to in the right fashion. Its obvious that these "anti-gunners" have changed their perspectives in some ways, but still hold onto their views in the right ways. I'm in law enforcement and I would hate to have to experience taking someone's life in defense of others or myself, but I train and prepare myself should that moment ever arise. I think every gun owner should honestly wrestle with the question of the value of life. Do you value your life so much that you would die to defend another? Thanks for wrestling with these topics.

Another well done episode. Kudos. The discussion at the end reminded me of a conversation with an anti about 30 years ago. They asked why we kept firearms around. I asked if they'd fight back if someone attacked them - they said maybe. I asked if they'd prevent someone from attacking a loved one - they said likely. I finally asked if when they fought in either case if they intended to win? The light slowly went on when I winked and said "We intend to win too - that's why the firearm...." Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Several months ago in St. Louis, an army veteran was walking back to his car with his family from a Cardinals game where he was approached by an armed man who demanded his wallet and keys. Knowing he was unarmed (as he was walking from an area where firearms are prohibited), the man, after receiving the wallet and keys, demanded that the vet and his family turn around and lie down. They complied at which point the man shot him in the back and left. Though he survived through extensive surgeries, the vet is now paralyzed from the chest down. To think that simply handing over your belongings will always be the best option is naive.

Every time I watch an episode of this season, I cringe when he talks. He believes he is either invincible or that crime and violence never happens. I truly imagine him leaving after each episode and literally sticking his head in the sand. I think he just wants to argue to be noticed; very much a "look at me" kind of argument. Funny thing is, he stated in this episode that he used to be a gun owner, so, if he's so anti-gun, why did he own it to begin with?

But as the season progressed, I have become more and more fascinated with the segment and the responses to your questions and concepts. It really is fascinating watching the mental gymnastics as they attempt to understand or accept that their own life is actually more valuable than their ideology (obviously David more so than Ja-mes). I get what's going on in his head, but it still makes no sense. Colion is slowly turning David around on guns when he actually will listen, but he's one of the stubborn types that will stick to his stance as much as possible. He's starting to see that people are sometimes more interested in guns for the mechanisms, target shooting, and craftsmanship, than they are for just self defense. If more pro gun law reform people watched this show, they'd probably change their views as well.

The Aussie is so naive it really hurts. I want so bad to go through the screen and tell him in his face that his brand of naivete has and DOES get people killed. And i also want to tell him that when it comes down to it who's life is more valuable, the attacker or the victim? And if he says that they're equal in value i'd call him on his bullshit and tell him point blank that the life of the attacker has no value when weighed against the life of an innocent person much less the person being victimized by the attacker. It's why it's a justified homicide when the attacker is killed by the victim. +Colion Noir please, on camera, ask him the following: "If you had to choose who dies between the victim and the attacker who's life would you choose to have ended? There is no other option the attacker presents a clear threat to the victim, who dies?" If he has to think about it at that point, i thank god he doesn't have a gun and if he can't choose he needs to become a hermit. It's a very common and normal line of thought that if the choice had to be made, the attacker would be the one to end up dead.

Musache would agree. As a Samurai, the weapon is a tool, not something to like in particular that needs to be babied, but something that is meant to work and get used and which wears out as needed in the process of doing this job.
@brofist19596 жыл бұрын
@@ChoppyWaterWhaleWave Tools have different purposes. Sure, a samurai is going to be using a sword, but one with money to spare might buy a particularly artistic piece to hang on the wall or to use in a show or in training rather than in actual combat. Different guns serve different purposes. I might buy a Colt 1911 or a p226 to carry into a combat situation, and I might buy an M&P to carry, but I just might buy a Hudson H9 to go to the range and have a good time (or, hell, even carry it in an urban environment if I want to do that). Not everything needs to be able to survive the swamps of Vietnam, the open ocean, the mud of somewhere in Scotland after a month straight of rain (or, your average day in Scotland), and the sands of the Sahara. Sometimes, you just want something a little fun and interesting, and sometimes I just want to put something cool looking or particularly artistic up on my wall. After all, guns aren't only useful for war, they're also useful for competition, and they're just damn fun to shoot just by themselves.

Noir! I am a Corrections Sgt and have worked in 4 different facilities in 4 different states. I have dealt with the most extremes in human behavior. When your Australian friend said he hoped he could talk them down I just about flipped! I have talked a lot of people off the edge, but there are a lot of people you cant talk down or reason with. Those people will stop at nothing to cause as much pain as possible and some times for no reason other than the deep seeded desire to cause pain to others. I have also met many victims of violent and sexual crime during parole hearings that I stood guard over. I have also met burglary, theft and robbery victims . I can tell you, for these people, the pain does not stop after the physical wounds heal or after the loved one is put in the ground. For most of these victims the psychological pain they experienced will always haunt them. The only people I have met that stopped themselves from becoming victims were those who were armed and ready to defend them self and their family. I can't blame people for thinking they can reason or logic with someone and stop them from doing something horrible. I use to think the same thing until I started working in the prison system. It was there I learned that evil is just evil and there are some people who cant be reasoned with no matter how well you know them, get along with them or how well you can reason with them. Also, I work in a "gun free" world where not even the officers carry guns inside the prison walls. The amazing thing is, violence still happens, people still die and weapons are still made from ordinary items. People who want to kill and hurt will do it weather they have a gun or not. In these cases its usually the strong that prey on the weak. So I leave with this parting thought; Pretending evil does not exist or thinking it could never happen to me does not change the fact that evil does exist and any one of us can be confronted by it at any time for any reason. All it takes is evil to show up once. Will you or your family be a victim or will you fight back? The choice is yours. Respectfully, A Corrections Sgt.

youve impress me again colion. youve made me see guns in yet another way even after 34 years of gun ownership. guns are a tool for me, and some guns are pieces of history to me. but guns as art (as opposed to guns as anti gun art) for arts sake? thats a new one. would, if i had unlimited funds ever pay millions for meteorite guns? probably not. but they are damn cool. the closest thing id seen as far as "gun art" would be those commemorative "limited collectible) "historical" gun commemorating historical events with a lot of added shiny bling. i always thought (and still do) of them as rather silly and a waste of money (but to each their own). but i can get my head around guns as art even though im not really an artful person. youve taught an old dog a new trick. bravo! well ,ill give david this. at least hes honest about never having had to face such a situation because its clear his opinion is formed never having faced such a situation. apparently hes never heard about gang members "making their bones" where the whole point of the robbery is to injure or kill the victim to prove their loyalty on joining a gang. reasoning them not shooting you is highly unlikely in such a situation. the only perpetrator likely to be swayed is one whos already looking for an out. i understand being passionate in your beliefs and there are things i would chose death over, but using an implement in the situation it was, in part, designed for is not one of them. he says hes not "anit right for YOU to own a gun......" im gonna call bullshit. i mean read his shirt. what does he think gun control laws are about. self governance? no. its about controlling others rights to own guns. so because he lacks the imagination to see a situation where HE needs a gun were all supposed to alter OUR RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES to fall in line? what arrogance.

oh and since i am an old dog and dont text, tweet, or whatever the de jour social media is. heres my most valuable guns, because i cant just narrow it down to one. 1st is the 1st gun i ever owned. a ww1/reichswehr era g98. it was a right of passage as i was raised by my anti gun grandmother, and marginally anti gun mother who made me return the 1st gun i ever purchased when i got it home. a semi auto .22 (at age 17). i got the g98 at an auction making the return process difficult and was able to convince my grandma and mom that i would be a responsible gun owner and it would not be a problem. and so it was. 2. my c98 broomhandle mauser since it my alltime favorite pistol. its a bit of a dog being a 7.63 rebored to 9mm but its mine/ 3. my m1 carbine. its a literal piece of history that saved the free world from fascist tyranny. nuff said. 4. my svt 1940 "mr tokarev" because its so badass. when mr tokarev talks peoples ears ring. badass soviet "m1 garand" that also helped save the free world (and the not so free world) from nazi tyranny.

I mean SEASON 5 .... is, to me, like the first successful launch that NASA ever had. It is clean and well edited. Yet, there is enough detail given regarding an 'anti-gun' persons view and ideals that I feel it can't be seen as biased/one sided. But then again, I am 'pro-gun' so my opinion must already be biased to begin with, right?!?

A little over 3 years ago I was assaulted by two guys. Until that time I hadn't worried about defending myself. It was at that moment I discovered that I could not and it shook me to my core. I decided then that it would not happen again and a few days later I bought two Ruger Ruger LC9s because, after watching many KZbin videos I learned that two is one and one is none. I also bought several magazines. Later I upgraded to two Ruger SR9Cs and later added two SR1911Ss and a Remington 1911R1S and a few other guns as finances allowed. As far as my favorite, it's hard to say, but I think I'd have to say my first AR15, a beautiful Colt M4 BLACKHAWK from Wal-Mart. I had looked at it every time I went to Wal-Mart, but it was way more than I could afford. I went in late one night and nearly fell over when I saw it. They had knocked 500 dollars off the price. I felt like buying it right then, but I held off and told the clerk I might be back the next day. I finished my shopping and went out to my pickup, started it, and was just ready to pull away when the thought hit me: It might not be there the next day when I got there. So I grabbed my cache of gun money and hurried back in. I watched a video recently that claimed you could buy a gun in 5 minutes. I've never bought one in under 30 minutes and that night was no different, but when I finished my 4473, had it checked, and my NICS background check run; it was well over 30 minutes. But after I gave the clerk my money, she surprised me because I had no idea that it came with a three day survival kit that included a beautiful, and very sharp, hunting knife and fire starters, food, water, a survival knife with a small survival kit in the handle, and a ton of other small but handy items. Then she said she'd need to find its box and case in the back. After a few minutes she came out with the box and went back for the case . . . a big, thick, heavy and strong TSA approved case with the foam inside that you carve out to the shape of your gun. I replaced the Magpul fore end sheath with a nice aluminum quad rail, a Nikon Prostaff BDR scope, a Surefire light, an aluminum folding fore end grip, and a bipod. When my brother came home for pheasant season he was green with envy and couldn't believe what I bought it for. That would have to be my favorite, I suppose, because, like your's, it was my first, and my first brand new long gun in 40+ years. The previous new gun was a Remington 552 Speedmaster .22 caliber rifle.

twice, getting out of my car at Walmart, robbed at gunpoint... you may never be in the situation, but those incidents are why I refuse to leave my home without my gun.... Tell that guy he would not be martyred for his beliefs, he would be a corpse that was forgotten... Point being, you don't have to see yourself in a situation to be prepared for it....

What the Aussie guy is basically saying is if he was on some tracks with 30+ other people and a train was coming he wouldn't change the line to kill one terrorist instead.

Tactical Ultimatum I hope Noir sees this and uses it as an argument against them. Probably the best comparison I've heard for this situation.

#MVG my CZ 2075 d Rami. I grew up shooting 1911s and CZs so i shoot it very well, especially after i put the pearce pinky extension on the 10rd mag. The aftermarket smooth carbon fiber grips keep my shirt from not catching when i bend down and stand back up for concealed carry purposes. they are much better than the standard checkered rubber grips. Overall its my best feeling gun in the hand now and, for me, points the best. And 2,500 rounds in with no malfunctions.

Great video! I'm curious as to how David would have responded if you gave him a menu of defense options. If it came down to defending his life would he prefer a bat, knife, tire iron or firearm? I've used that question in the past and it made some people realize that all of those items can be lethal, and for most it showed they just didn't like the idea of firearms, it was no longer about it being a tool to defend themselves but not liking the tool just for what it represented to them.

Yes, I have used the same argument. Followed by, " so you admit that you would be willing to bash someone's brains in with a baseball bat but not use a gun which you may not actually have to fire to stop the crime." That is one thing people don't realize is that you may be able to get them to cease and desist without shooting them.

I think Ja-mes is coming around. Another season and I think she will be a gun enthusiast
@ricks.10928 жыл бұрын
Something tells me Ja-Mes, will come around by the end of the season. She might have more work ahead of her, in regard to being informed about firearms. However, I like the progress she's making. As for David, I think he lives in a deluded fantasy world. Who believes what the MSM (media) tells the masses. What David, hasn't figured out, is that there's pure evil in this world. People high on illicit drugs, etc. In which no amount of de-escalating the situation, will work with a deranged perpetrator. When your life is on the line, a firearm, will level the playing field per se. Or perhaps give a person the advantage. At this juncture, the firearm is a tool, which a person is glad the have. I think that's what David is not understanding. And just arguing a point to counter-argue the point..........................I take personal safety for my family and myself very seriously I also, love firearms, in which I have an extensive and large collection. Some of my firearms are meant to use and train with as tools. Others guns are fine collector pieces. And then some other firearms are just cool and rare. That I get enjoyment firing them. I'm fortunate enough to have my own personal ranges on my land. In which, I'm not bothering neighbors or receiving subsequent.................................. I bet if David went out and shot a bunch of different types of firearms for fun. He might come around. Anytime I shot with someone, who's shooting for the first time. Always walks away with a big smile and simply says..."that was a lot of fun." One more thing, it appears that Ja_mes, is being more Open Minded with these round table discussions. I wish I could say the same for David. Hence, I do give both a lot of credit for voicing their opinions and concerns. Their willingness to listen to Noir's counter points. All said and done, open and honest dialogue is where both sides need to be. If people are not willing to be open and honest about the subject matter. Then we'll simply continue to go around this perpetual circle of getting nowhere. I like this format best for the Noir Show. Keep up the excellent work. Respectfully submitted, Risk S. M.D.
