I enjoy them but the constant cuts give me a headache. If they just did a start to finish that would be cool. The scene, the step by step practical application, the breakdown of mechanics, & dom employing the technique at range.

It's my dream to fire a WWII era thompson
@Jay18307 жыл бұрын
I shot one. Trigger is super hard it feels like safety is on^^ The recoil is very soft and you feel it going forward after the recoil. You get gas in the face at every bullet. But its light enough, and the iron sights are decent. These are peep sight but the ring is very large. Except for the trigger and sights Its pretty much like a sten if you can shoot one. Stg44 was way more comfortable to shoot, but its heavy and sights and stock sucks. Usm1a1 is very fun but jaming a lot after thousands of rounds. M1 garrand is by far the best rifle i have shot in my life.
@silvermediastudio7 жыл бұрын
You haven't shot an M1A1 until you've either fought in WWII, or shot a USPSA course of fire with one. They weren't designed for standing still and hitting a precise target, they were designed for sweeping through trenches, defensive positions, and urban positions, firing short bursts or providing grazing fire over a rifle team in absence of a light machine gun. The sights are combat sights, designed for exactly that. Comparing it to the M1 Garand makes absolutely zero sense in context of requirements, design intent, and application.

Had a Thompson sub machine gun, while it was semi automatic, it could empty 30 round stick magazine in no time at all. But my God it was super heavy. That thing was machined from a solid block of ordinance steel. It just couldn’t be the same ones that were carried in WW-2 . Those guys were good, but man day after day it had to be brutal. The Thompson is most intimidating and effective with the drum magazine as it holds more rounds and is the deflector shield for stopping incoming rounds! Obviously it was built before there was inertial dampeners so it did not come with that option! I have the first 2, but I don't want an M-60 (reliability issues) or the Ma Duce (ammo is too expensive) but I'd love a Thompson, with the ability to take the drum magazines!

@toriisdefinitlynutz5 жыл бұрын
HarleyDawg12 literally anytime I go grocery shopping and take the groceries to the car I put the cart between me and the street or me and the parking lot depending on the store I go to I have a serious fear of leaving my back unprotected so it’s just an added layer of security my husband was in the army and says that my natural paranoia would have been an asset because I can usually tell when someone is looking at me from two streets over ( I grew up in the hood so you don’t make eye contact or stare someone down unless you want problems) and pretty accurately can tell you who it was based on body language alone.

15:45 "Do you think there is any credence to the idea that a scary looking gun will help you in a self-defense situation?" My answer is that I don't plan on relying on it. I can't pick one way or the other as to yes or no though. Because I've heard instances of it working and failing. If a bad guy saw my gun, shat a brick, and either ran away or surrendered I wouldn't complain. I'd call it a win and be thankful that I didn't have to hurt or kill somebody. But don't rely on it alone. I suspect that's the cause of the rare occasion someone gets their gun taken away by the criminal. People get a gun thinking, "I'm just gonna scare the bad guy away." Then the bad guy calls their bluff. Said gun owner doesn't follow through. Criminal gets said gun. Don't point a gun at anything you aren't ready to destroy.

If that were the case, how is the Mk19, M134D Minigun and MG42 not make it on the list. I mean put a stabilizing brace on them and they are about the same as a rifle with a shorter barrel. Personally I like them in pistol calibers I think with a .223 you lose way too much muzzle velocity unless you're using a longer one like an 11.5 inch Commando upper it's ok, but I still think 16 or 14.5 inch is better.
