I was trying VERY HARD to like it but I just can't. I think I'd like it much more if it wasn't based off of dice, if it was just a SRPG where you could just walk around it would've been so amazing. I'm just not sure what to do, seems like I need to run through each character to upgrade them to use in a main dungeon. But the turn limit is so tight, I REALLY want to watch all the friendship cutscenes as you said (and I really liked the friendship tiles), but I can't because if you want to win you need to rush to shops and bosses.... It's not even fun to play because you need to "cheese" the game in an exact way - you need to always buy 1-move cards and Shop Cards (because the treasure 1 square behind the boss will always contain a Destination card, which teleports you to the next boss but you'll never roll a 1 after beating the boss. And also the Shop Cards teleport you to shops, again the shops are such a pain to get to because you'll never roll the right number you need, but you need shops to get equipment or you get one-shotted). This is the only feasible way to complete all 5 levels, you don't have enough moves to walk out of the dungeons, you need these Destination cards to warp out to the next boss. And nothing is worse than rolling 4 sets of 1 on the dice, it's just chance and it's so frustrating so much is out of my control. I want to be able to use actual tactics. I hope everyone else enjoys it, but for me I wanted more visual novels or fun gameplay, but this gameplay is not fun at all.

A weird thing I find about this game is that it has weird frame issues. Its a visual novel with minimum graphics and yet the switch cant keep a steady 60 fps. For such a little game like this, thats pretty piss poor even if its a nitpick.

tbh i was pretty excited for this just to see all the characters in the same place and seeing them have fun, lol got the physical copy of decadence today, i'm excited to get into the series proper-- i've been a fan for ages but haven't finished any of the games myself yet haha

This game so far and might probably be only on Nintendo Switch. There is no way with the themes UDG has that they will be able to port it over to the switch.

@@vipersniperpiper6093 What? Where do you see any filter in what Nintendo allows to be ported over to their platforms? lol. Hundreds if not thousands of random spam games are on there, as is Agony, one of the most brutal and disgusting games Ive ever seen.

@@PantsaBear Really? Never even heard that Agony was on there in the first place. I really don’t know enough of the library on there to fully know that. I said what I said about UDG mainly because of how brutal those themes in the game can be at times,Kotoko is the one that comes to mind since I am sure some people find the way it’s portrayed to be a bit disrespectful.

Really the only thing i liked about this game was the story and character interactions. My advise, just watch walkthroughs for the story.

At first when I saw that I only had 50 days I thought wait, this is way too short, but after completing some characters my mind changed completely and I thought the process would never end💀 And I really didn't like the system, it was so tyring to always start from the beginning…

Don't do it unless you want to play some Mario, Zelda etc. because Danganronpa S is not worth it, even when already having a Switch, this game is not really worth 20$.

I was hoping this was better. The main games are too violent and tragic for me. What is the point of getting to know the characters when they end up being killed as soon as you start liking them?

Well chances are the characters _won't_ die as soon as you start liking them. The chapters are hours long, that's plenty of time to interact with characters. As long as you have enjoyed the process of getting to know them, it is never a waste or meaningless. How early the characters drop dead is irrelevant. Hell, even if they died, you can still talk to your dead friends by going back to previous chapters and do the Free Time Events. Honestly, this mentality you have is like saying what's the point of living when you will end up dying anyway, which is just plain wrong.

@@Anna-kz7km In the first game the character I liked died very quickly I believe she was the first one. Real life is different you typically get to spend years with your loved ones not one hour. And not everyone can deal with tragedy in stories. And it’s not they are peacefully passing away. They are being tortured. I can deal with shooting people in Call of Duty but I can’t deal with the kind of death in these types of games or animes. I get too emotional and cry and my history of depression doesn’t help. I’m glad you enjoy the games. I wish I could too.

if you don't like the violence then don't buy danganronpa simple as that danganronpa just simply doesn't work without the tragedy and violence sure you can create bonus modes where there is no killing because they aren't canon but the main story just cannot work without the murders and the tragedy

Technically no, but this game is for the fans who have played the originals, so you’re better off playing the first game and seeing if you even like the games first place. This 6 could easily become a 3 without prior knowledge of character relationships and etc. Tldr:its not a spin off title that newcomers can play without being a little confused

Maybe if you did some research .. the anniversary edition is Switch only, the only console that didn't yet have it... And noone is forced to but the trilogy on switch if they have it... Danganronpa S can be bought alone on the shop

I am a huge DR fan, and I've bought this game and played it and yeah, it's boring. At least I hope that my post on DR fanpage in which I explain to people why they should not buy this game will take away some money from the greedy publisher's pockets.
