I'm very surprised infighting hasn't been explored more in games like Skyrim. They do actually fight in that game (Empire vs. rebels, predators vs. just about anything they aren't), but pretty sure that very game was supposed to have elaborate faction interactions, mostly seen in the civil war, would've been such a good justification to get the tech to work right and apply it to everything to make it feel like a living ecosystem. The mods did a pretty good job at it, but I would've loved a game cohesively built around it. I'd love if that bandit camp outside Whiterun actually went out and raided stuff, going so far as needing to scavenge for food to stay alive at all, robbing traveling arms merchants and actually getting stronger for having that gear, and consequently picking bigger targets. Wouldn't it be amazing to come across a bandit camp and they just completely snowballed out of control? Having tons of potions etc., even increasing skills as they use them on their path. At this point I went so deep we'd never see it in a Bethesda TES game, and we all know how Bethesda handles complex systems anyway. (Radiant AI isn't even as complicated as this) But man, these ideas need to be explored more, it's like having ai enemies and allies in games like Civilization/AoE etc.This would all work even better if you could attempt to join up with a faction of your choice and aid them in their interactions with the system with a lot of freedom. It has been a dream of mine for a dev like Outer Wilds' to nail this since my childhood gaming days.
@marcusborderlands61774 жыл бұрын
Stalker originally had a super complicated system like that, where multiple other "Stalkers" would be hunting for the same thing as you, and could actually complete missions that you needed to do to beat the game, and just basically softlock you. Sadly the devs never finished implementing it

@EpicZantetsuken I just so happen to be watching the very last part of Woolie Vs.'s Halo 1-Reach playthroughs now, one of my very favorite series. I was reminded of all those relationships and conflicts, the covenant in particular has a lot of shit going on among their own factions. Not a sandbox game, like you said, but I'd definitely be interested in this kinda thing set in the Halo universe, like how Halo Wars did something different. It's an interesting question what scale this game would be set on, giving us a lot of freedom to have a major influence on large scale factions and events could mess with the canon and progression thereof, but that would still be the coolest way to go about it imo. When I 1st played Mass Effect I remember wanting a Halo game with that kinda semi-free galaxy exploration aspect, idk how you'd pull all this together and then sell it to the Halo audience, but I've always dreamt of Halo's gameplay and universe in a more open ended world.

I think you should do your hardcore survival game on a *RANDOM* seed. You are clearly one of the best players at this game-- it would not be fun to watch you steamroll an easy seed, but I do want to see you push yourself to the limit and beat the everliving crap out of a totally unpredictable seed.
@FuryForged5 жыл бұрын
The only problem with that is that most seeds will not allow me to do what I want to do, which is spend 60 hours on one seed exploring EVERYWHERE and going into the parallel universes, etc. Unfortunately, the game is extremely precise about what it allows you to use in order to access certain things. This has nothing to do with skill, but with simple RNG. The reason why I haven't started this series yet is because I haven't been told this "godseed" by anyone yet. i.e. I'm not looking for a seed myself. I need someone who knows exactly what I want to do to tell me a good seed, so I can go into it blind, but also know that I'll be able to do what I want.

I'm going to take the bait and reply to your criticism. It's just my word against yours, but in short: what is only a few minutes of your life is actually hundreds of hours of mine. I really don't understand the hate and distrust levelled at any gaming content creators. Sure there are some shady people IN EVERY PROFESSION but I, myself, happen to enjoy playing this game and I happen to also enjoy *helping* others with it. And, like I said, I spend an enormous amount of time making these videos. Each one takes at minimum 3 or 4 days of solid work. Don't you think I'd crank them out WAY faster if I was willing to cheat everything? It's best to give people the benefit of the doubt when making a first impression.
@Jaqen-HGhar5 жыл бұрын
@@FuryForged Look I voraciously consume all your Noita videos and that's WITH assuming that you're using scripts because your explanations are just that good. I'm just never going to be so naive as to assume that whenever there is a profit motive and extreme competition and easy access to a way to get above the competition that people won't take advantage of it. Especially in something like this where it isn't even banned or illegal. Even if you were cheating to produce these videos I don't think it takes anything away from them unlike nearly every other type of gaming content out there (like FPS) because you aren't trying to show that you're a God among men you are just trying to explain how the game works and they would help that process. I mean I was mainly trying to give the person a lesson towards to take going forwards because it's not just gaming on KZbin but online gaming in general that's broken due to scripting but it was wrong of me to do it on a channel like yours. If you'd rather not have those links to cheats on your vid you can always delete it.
@FuryForged5 жыл бұрын
I do use the CheatGUI mod from time to time in order to test certain things and to cut down on time *that* way but make no mistake - I've played Noita for over 400 hours so far, I speedrun it, I've done over 2000 runs and all the videos I make of it take DAYS of hard work. Most people don't realize the insane amount of work that goes into making videos to begin with, so that's where I get upset when someone is like "don't trust youtubers" since I work from the moment I get up in the morning until the moment I go to sleep at night 6 days a week, every week. That's all. It's not an anti-cheat type of thing, it's just that I want my extreme hard work to be recognized and not minimized by people just saying "oh, he just uses cheats." because even if I *did* just use cheats, it would still take a ton of work to produce these videos. I don't mind at all having links to those things here. I actually LIKE it because even cheat mods and trainers help the community. I'm all for the community creating things, especially in the form of mods. I use mods, sure. I have never used a trainer or CheatEngine. I don't even know how they work because I'm just not interested, but I don't mind at all that they're out there.

Hopefully we'll get a more wholesome ending. Turning the world into gold and staying alive is cool and all but it makes me feel lonely and empty. The Tower adds fun to the process of climbing back up to get that ending, but you can always climb back up from where you came from, where the enemies don't pose such a big threat. Getting an awesome wand is very worth it but since you're about to finish the game and never need to use it it's not very worth it after all. My proposal could be to place a third altar platform on the moon where "The Work" will finally meet its true potential, maybe after a moon boss battle. Then a lot could be reworked on the levels that lead up to the moon, climbing the tower could give us a shortcut to the first sky level or an item to summon the sky boss, the powerful wand will serve us to take on the sky enemies but we'll still need to explore the world and upgrade in order to fly up to the sky in the first place. There's a lot of potential in this game, this engine and this world indeed.

Hmmm, I did this run last night, so...welp, I actually didn't explore much of the first 3 areas. It was only in the Hiisi base where I really started to clear out the entire level. It was a few hours, for sure, before I started recording.

@FuryForged5 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy. This game's very much a survival thing. You really have to play it slowly and carefully until you get powered-up enough to start really cutting through enemies. It's obviously VERY random, so that's not always the easiest thing to do. For every run like this, that ends up being successful enough for me to use for a video, there are dozens of failed attempts - or many more "not so good" attempts.
@DaddyDeGrand5 жыл бұрын
@@FuryForged That's basicly me with Hades' heated run attempts. The successful or almost successful runs usually made a very small portion of the hours and days that sometimes went into these successes. You also have a lot of editing to do on top of all that. Hours of material you need to cut and arrange, that takes time and effort.

The legs don't seem like they are helping you move around at all. Maybe they could make levitation a bit more efficient or something?
@FuryForged5 жыл бұрын
They don’t boost levitation at all, but they do make you a little faster and actually make *me* play a little differently...more like a predator, lol. They also do melee damage to things around you, which is nice.

Fury, How are you so good at this game? i find it impossible. i really would rate it as my hardest game and i like my games hard. i know a lot of my deaths are because of my stupidity like stepping in acid or fire. But a lot of my deaths are beyond control like snipers shooting me through the scenery from two screens away.

how come in every video you always have a comical amount of health and all the perfect perks? do you ever do these runs legit?
@FuryForged5 жыл бұрын
They’re all built-up legitimately before the video, except for the video I made on inaccessible items. Even though most of my videos of this game, on this channel, are less than 10 minutes long, I put dozens of hours into each one. I’ve played this game for over 600 hours and I actively speedrun it, even having the world record pacifist run, so do you really wonder still why I know what I know and am able to build up an OP player easily? It’s because I know by heart absolutely everything in the game.

Wouldn't the way to dig through cursed rock best be with a black hole and trail of gunpowder? As long as you don't touch the rock everything is ok and that is the only spell that creates infinite non fluid matter
@FuryForged5 жыл бұрын
I didn’t think about using gunpowder trail. However, it seems that the barrier between the worlds now functions like the holy mountains after triggering the collapse: you take damage no matter what, so you have to be able to move fast enough to survive.

"Just" ?? lol. I've never tried leading one of them across the entire world before. Will they actually follow you all that way? I'm sure it'd take a very long time, since they move so slowly, but if it's possible then, yeah, that might work...unless they get damaged in there too, which would kill them very quickly.
@genijable5 жыл бұрын
@@FuryForged yeah just. After seeing you easily play this game through and even reveal all its secrets, even thinking about doing a all included run. I can not even get past the ice caverns.
