You should check out this game called WXsand if you haven't already, it is a powdergame that lets you code your own elements. it had alot of mods in the past, and some are still findable if you quest around on the forums. it was made by this person named Owen Piette, who also liked beekeeping. anyway, if you cannot find it, hit me up, i have the last two versions saved. the last version even has options to add multi pixel objects to the game.

Well, love this game! Thanks for doing it, it is appreciated! I'm a gaming veteran and have played pretty much ALL games in history, I started when video games were brand new. Due to this, I really hate that boring and meaningless concepts get 2000 sequels and iterations. This is a breath of fresh air, a physically more accurate world, where everything is simulated. It is a lot of fun to play, especially when everything is in flames. Now all that is missing is pressure waves: Explosions push objects away or material flying through the air. But I don't know how hard that would be to do. It is a great game as it is.

So I got a few questions if it's alright to ask: 1. What is progression like for this game? Sure, there's randomly generated areas but in some trailers, it shows you outside on the surface rather then underground. So will there be multiple options on what you do in the game? 2. What is the game's price? Been interested in saving some money for the game so it'll help me out to know what it'll be. That's really it. Besides that, love to see this game in the future!
@ashp99595 жыл бұрын
1. The game is procedurally generated but it's still bound to levels. For example the first level is surface/near surface with trees, wood and such, the lower levels are frozen/icy caves, magma caves and so on. 2. I believe they said on the reddit that the game will cost $18.
@stoovan38675 жыл бұрын

@@stoovan3867 The game is indeed 1 seamless procedural world. If you so desire You can backtrack to the previous environments if you manage to dig or blow holes through each shop witch separates them. And yea there is a procedural overworld. From what i can tell from gifs there are also a few biomes such as a desert and forest. Most of the gameplay will take place underground however.last year the devs had explained that they plan to have extra content and things to do in the overworld area. Im not sure if the Early Access version at launch will contain these or not but cool anyways.

I like the direction games are taking. Physics based game worlds, raytracing, simulating instead of guessing stuff. I have seen playable demos where a whole 3D world is made out of destructible voxels. Now, first games with this concept are appearing like this one. Raytracing was a nice demo a year ago and now some indie games do start to support it. First render demos appear of in game objects breaking and ripping with the percision on the molecular level like they would do in real life. It fills me with joy when I think about how games are going to looklike in to years.

Sandbox roguelike? ... Hell, just a moment ago, I was wondering what to spend all my money on. The way the terrain is generated, the way everything happens exactly like you'd expect, the way ice cracks when damaged and rubble rolls down, the way every object is pixel art, yet rotates without it looking strange, the randomly generated wands..... This game keeps looking better. It reminds me of the way I'd make a game, in contrast to other game designers: if something's a good idea to have in the game, it's worth the effort. If it adds anything to the game, aesthetic, feel, realisticness, fantasy, it needs to be there. Everywhere I look, I see that you put a lot of work into making this game EVERYTHING it needs to be. I cannot wait for release, and I haven't even known the game for more than 10 minutes.

I like retro games that actually ARE good. Not just games that have bad graphics, calling themselves "retro games". it doesn't work like this. Also, retro games can or even should have some improvements from present technology. Game can be retro, even if it is very modern. And Noita looks like the such game. It's retro, but isn't just looking bad. It looks cool and seems fun to play too. I wish more retro devs would make such games. Keep the good work done, guys! You are awesome!
@xGOKOPx2 жыл бұрын
Just having pixelated graphics doesn't make the game retro. An example of a truly retro game would be Shovel Knight. Noita is actually quite innovative and its physics simulation can cause FPS drops on decent PCs occasionally, so it wouldn't be very doable on the hardware that 80's games were made for
@Netsuki2 жыл бұрын
@@xGOKOPx But pixelated games are advertised as retro and literally that's only what most of them have in terms of that. Bad graphics and nothing else. That's why they are bad retro games, because they don't understand what makes the game retro, what makes the old games good. Not pixelated graphics, but the atmosphere, the gameplay etc. It's not me, it's them who are in wrong here. Because they shouldn't be calling games that has nothing else but pixels retro, when they don't picturize the soul of these old games.
