Honestly, the Tentacruel question was the hardest one in Hard. The rest were pretty obvious changes, but Tentacruel was a minor shade swap for one part that I'm not sure I'd notice even if I knew it was swapped. I only missed that one and the Legendary Bird question.

Gen 1 shinies have always been so great! And as a shiny hunter ( *and absolute nerd* ) i got all of them right! Though i ALMOST failed the Tentacruel answer, i just got it right because i thought the tentacles were a bit too bright 😅 ( man, i didn't remember the tentacles were actually that bright ) I absolutely love these shiny quizzes, Noki! When Rapidash popped up for the Blue buddies, I immediately knew that it was the fake, because I used it on my Legends: Arceus team, and I remember that its flames were a pale purple, so the literal minute it was on screen I was like, "Its Rapidash". These quizzes are great! Definitely did better on this gen 1 quiz than the others. Got 10/11. The Tentacruel was the only one that tripped me up. From doing Zapdos raids in PoGo I made a trick for telling shiny Zapdos apart. I literally never pay attention to the body. Only the beak and feet. Which ironically I would've figured it out quicker if I paid attention to the body this time, but the beak and feet weren't saturated enough either so I could still tell it was off. 🤣

The legendary birds stumped me. But only because the "fake" Zapdos is but a subtle tinge darker than the real shiny - Zapdos' shiny has always been obviously darker to me, especially in the feet. Plus, shiny Pidgey depicted here is a little desaturated - it's supposed to be a bit more golden/yellow (but that is probably just the way the HOME sprite was made.)

some of these are honestly kinda heinous because of two reasons: 1) some shinies have just straight up changed over the years. if someone played GSC as their ONLY Pokemon game, they would be completely right to assume A was the correct answer on question 1. I missed Zapdos because the gen 2 shiny was much more iconic and prominent in my mind than the washed out, modern 3D versions - feel free to cross reference "Serebii Zapdos gsc" on google (that said, the side by side was misleading regardless because even in modern gens, Zapdos is lighter than the "non-shiny" shown here) 2) the jump from 2D to 3D completely nuked some Pokemon's colorations as well as their shinies via saturation (or lack thereof). Gengar used to be one of the coolest shinies back in GSC imo, but now it's one of the bigger laughingstocks of modern shiny pokemon. Slowpoke is a great example in this quiz where the jump from 2D to 3D completely ruined the differentiation, as regular Slowpoke was a much brighter hot pink in the older games. all of that said, it's in good fun, and it was a fun quiz! I'm all for trickery, like gold Gyarados copying Magikarp's shiny palette, same with Rapidash having blue flames like Ponyta, but being tricky with saturation when the game's infamously play with the saturation slider as is just feels kinda cheap, hope that's remedied by the next quiz

To be fair to the Dragonair question, kingler did look off. Like fake. Not in the sense of its shiny colours, but in the sense that image was blurry and somewhat strange, as if it were photoshopped badly. So if i didnt knew the answer and also didnt knew EXACTLY how all those look(whitch i dont, actually), i would have picked kingler 10 out of 10 times. Sadly, dratini was my first full odds shiny in pokemon go, so no chance here xD

I had no clue what Tentacruel looked like but I did know the other 3 were probably right
