The problem on that one seems to be that you just wouldn't usually dig a whisper like the Simplex gives off halfway through it's maximum depth, the Nox is a strong signal almost to full depth, very intriguing test, though, and certainly impressive on the Simplex's side!

Ooh I dig all those whispers :), why you wouldnt dig those? Once you are used to machines with audio modulation on target depths and you get a machine like the eQuinox that hasnt have the future, its fcking anoying to search without it...

iTz Catchyy ive been asking for audio gain in the nox since release.. i love to know when a targets deeper... great for old pasture land especially if modern trash all in top 3/4 inchs

I like the idea of the light add-on, many times you can't quit hunting and it's dark and with no head torchlight many times it's very hard to continue, the field test will be one to watch.

Does the Simplex works with the wireless Quest Headphones?

No. Same frequency but not compatible. You could of course get hold of the Quest WXT Wire Free transmitter and plug that into the Simplex's headphone output. Cheaper than buying the Nokta Makro headphones.

For 299 as opposed to 899, simplex is a good buy. very good. Enjoyed the vid. Nice test. Felt the Nox test was pulled up a little tighter than the simplex. Looked even to me. Well done!

Also comes with waterproof wireless head phones i think , the Nox are not waterproof but i still love the Nox

Yeah the headphones that come with the Nox are not waterproof but you can of course buy third party ones that are. Still great value from Nokta Makro. Think I will stick with the Nox though ;)

A few years back, started off with Ace 250--dry sand ok---wet sand just hopeless. Stepped up to Deus---outstanding in pasture and dry sand---no good in wet sand. Got my Equinox 800 a year ago and never looked back. Most of my detecting is on the beach so this demands a good detector---guess I"ve found it ! Happy digging folks !

Equinox is top detector in the world, this Simplex is all inspired by Nox, and cannot compare to minelab technology. It seems deeper but in some iron infested areas, Nox is indisputable!

It's an interesting test but not actually that useful. For it to have real meaning you would need to test against the nox out in a real world search environment, preferably out on the wet sand. Nokta Makro's beach mode on their machines is better than most single frequency detectors but having previously owned the Racer and the Impact..which I "thought" worked great, the nox is in a whole different league! That is not to say the Simplex Plus is not going to be great, especially given it's spec for the money but comparisons like this only ever benefit the company not the end user.

The nox will never do well on air tests. Give it compressed ground with no air gaps to be a fair test.

Multi-IQ is definitely not a Gimmick. My last machine was a Nokta Impact and before that a Racer. I also have a Ace 400i and Quest Q40. The Q40 punches very deep but it's not exactly a pleasure to use on the wet sand. I used to think the Impact was great as was the Racer before it but then I bought a Nox and it's been a revelation! I am always wary of the smoke and mirrors of the company marketing/pr departments but hats off to Minelab, they were not exaggerating. Or at least that is my experience.

Im pretty sure the whispers it gave off towards its max depth would not be diggable since you are going to get those kind of tweets all the time. The minelab on the other hand only starts to give off those whispers on the last 2 centimeters. But we will see

I doubt there would be many who could accuse Sid of having a lack of basic knowledge. I don't think this was meant to be a definitive test. It is though a bit of a Nokta Makro PR exercise...and I fully understand the reasons behind that. Best thing is wait until all those pre-orders have been fulfilled and see how it performs in all those different soil/sand conditions. There is however no denying it is fantastic value for money.
