As we know, "LOST IN LOVE" was never released as a video. I would have love to see a concert version done for the video.

Carlos DeJesus! That was the hottest video show of the early 80's! Bobby does look like a rock star and have stated on a group interview on American Bandstand that one of his favorite artists is Rick James. So the look makes sense!!!
@soulchildsacomin14 жыл бұрын
@ROBNYCNEHISTORIAN If "Lost In Love" were a video, it would have been #1 on the charts. When Ralph did'nt fully answer Carlos' question about a video for "Lost In Love," it was confirmed that there was'nt going to be a video for one. The group made their first appearance on New York Hot Tracks in late 1983 when they performed "Jealous Girl" live as well as the long version of "Candy Girl." They promoted Cnady Girl album in the US very late, due to their touring schedules and video shoots.

@NOLAsoulchild Don't forget about Michael Bivins as a reluctant co-founder as well. He though he was more interested in basketball he still helped create the group.

@NOLAsoulchild I think this interview was sometime in the srping of 1985, not 1984. Jesse Johnson's Revue (as Ralph mentions) did'nt release their first album until Feburary of 1985 and then after the release of the album then went on tour. Also the video for "My Secret" came out in the late spring of 1985 (my dad has the video taped on Hot Tracks from around that pd).
@cooper4820116 жыл бұрын
soulchildsacomin It was in the summer of 1985.

One of those instances where Bobby looks upset..LOL...If you read Bobby's "unauthorized" book...this seems to be one of the instances where he's wearing red, and the rest of fellas (Mike and Ronnie) tried to wear red outfits as well which always annoyed him and it would cause fights lol.

@tlig Nah, Bobby created the group in '78, Brooke Payne (Ron's Uncle) polished 'em & Maurice Starr introduced 'em to the world. That guy is just the host of Hot Trax.
@IceManLikeGervin7 жыл бұрын
Didn't both Bobby and Mike create the group together? I heard Mike say that in a recent interview. Mike said him and Bobby were in 2 other groups together before New Edition...and left those groups to create NE with Ricky & Ralph who were also a group known as Ricky & Ralph aka Double R Connection...
@doriswoods47767 жыл бұрын
Bobby's interest has always been to be a star. Mike wanted to play basketball and Ralph was interested in marshall arts (karota). However, as you mentioned Bobby and Mike song together, and Ralph and Ricky song together. All which came to an end. Since this was Bobby's passion he wanted to continue pursuing it. After he had stage fright during a talent show, he approached his friends Rick and Mike about starting a group. Bobby brought Corey and Travis into the group but they left. Then Rick brought Ralph into the group. Ronnie was brought in by their manager Brooke (his uncle) later. It is okay to say that Mike and Rick helped co-found the group, but it was Bobby who initially started the group.

This is absolutely true about Mike and BB were in a group then they went and got Ricky then Ricky went and got Ralph before candy girl came out Ron uncle bought him in.
@Sunshine-dy2nx5 жыл бұрын
Isn't it already stated here that Mike said he and BB started a group together with Corey and Travis then Ricky was bought into the group they then met Brook he named them NE then Corey or Travis left the group and Ricky went and got Ralph, the other member left the group and Brooke bought Ron in. It's so important, to tell the truth. BB didn't do anything by himself Mike already established that; now BB may have started whatever group he and Mike were in before NE but he did not start NE.
