What tool do you want to see next? BTW I forgot to mention that Drag is better for high poly models because Move will leave a mark for the selected areas. Hope this helps :D

I’m still not sure what the difference between clay and brush is, so I basically only ever use brush. Sometimes it seems like clay works better for laying down textures… but idk. I know they work differently I just can’t figure out how or how to take advantage of their differences aside from the small difference noted here about preserving details which is why I use brush. I almost never want to remove my texture so I use brush to make adjustments to the form without ruining the surface details. Brush just seems objectively better in my opinion so I don’t understand why clay exists. If someone can further elaborate I’d appreciate it!

I love you tutorials! But I’ve got a question, how did you get the clay tool to come to a point like in your sculpting hair tutorial?
@SmallRobotStudio3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Kaybob! For the hair tutorial I made an alpha with a diamond shape and customized the pressure settings. I haven't quite covered the use of alphas on a video but I did talk about the pressure settings in the Crease tutorial :) Hope this helps!!!

Great video! Any idea why my grab and drag brushes generate a small planar circle in the middle when I push farther enough? I have no alpha enabled, it's the default brush, as is.

Thank you! Your videos really helped me learn digital sculpting. I got one question though. When I join mashes I lose all details. And I can't blend separate mashes together if they aren't remashed, so I can't do any detailed work like lips, eyes, ears, or other as the "resolution" is too low I try running voxel remash multiple times, but it doesn't help. I try adding new mashes for these details, but as soon as I wanna join them with the main mash, they just lose all detail right away and look very "rough" Anybody got any tips for me? Thank you!
@SmallRobotStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jordan! Usually by using a higher number when voxel merging, the results will keep details. If it doesn't then before merging, you'll need to add topology resolution to each mesh individually. You can add levels in Multiresolution and then deleting the lower ones. After this when merging you'll get smoother results.

Thanks Erika! What about Nudge, Pinch and DelLayer. When to use these three?
@SmallRobotStudio3 жыл бұрын
No worries! I'll cover them with detail in more videos. In brief Nudge: Lets you gently push vertices along a existing surface, think of it as a subtle move. Pinch: is like a magnet of vertices pulling them together, similar to Crease but without pushing up or down the geometry; its helpful for sharpening corners. DelLayer is when you made a Layer and you want to revert some areas to the base mesh. Hope this helps :D
