We just built our house with land in Lahore, Pakistan. I researched many places as a Pakistani American, considered Dubai, nope, a hot, dusty, brown, concrete jungle, Turkiye very nice, but expensive now, looked at Malaysia which was my top choice but too far from Dallas where we have a house, we would need to fly over the Pacific and we want to travel around the Atlantic. We decided on Lahore, its the cultural capital of not just Pakistan but the sub continent with a rich Mughal history. Flying to Lahore, we can take different airlines and stop over at dfferent countries each time we go from Dallas. To go visit London, we would take British Airways or Virgin, stop over in London and on to Pakistan. or Turkish airlines, stop over in Istanbul, This is possible because Pakistan is half way on the other side of the US, so we can even fly from the West over the Pacific and stop over in Japan for example and then on to Lahore. Lahore has very low taxes, very cheap labor. We have a security guard we pay him $160 a month and i pay him extra as he is also a armed bodyguard, even tho crime is low in Lahore but we can hire 6 security guards for peace of mind, plus 2 maids for $80 each a month. You dont need that many but we go for 2 months in summer and can afford to pay $500 and have several people work, we built our custom house, Americans can only dream of, we spent $400k over 3 years, its 7500 sq foot, with a elevator inside and top of the line marble, triple pane windows to keep the heat out and a full basement for summers. We have a huge rooftop with all marble, and now building a full cover solar roof, with sofas underneath to give us 4 levels of living space. I feel Pakistan is the best cheapest option and we are in DHA7 which is run by former military officers and its super safe, super clean, efficient, roads and utilities were in place before we started building, since then the ruppee has crashed vs the dollar so you could build it even cheaper today, land wise, construction material has gone up a bit but still a steal. I invite you to come stay at our place and make a video on Lahore. ps. and we love cars in Pakistan, we just hired a driver for the busy parts of town but in Defense I can drive comfortably and you can buy a used land cruiser for very affordable cost, its perfect, the roads are as nice as the US.

One of my favourite things is to listen to Mainstream media about other countries. For example I live in Marbella, Spain. There are 10K Swedish living here. If you read Swedish media this is a horrible place with lots of gang violence, only rich people snorting snow, and no one can live there unless they are gangsters. But every Swede living here are parents because its impossible to raise kids in Sweden with all the crime (9 times crime rate in Sweden VS Spain) and crashing school system and you can still buy and rent decently cheap in Marbella area. I believe these type of propaganda, which almost all western countries do, is to keep people home so they pay taxes. The politicians, and their bought and paid for media channels, all want to celebrate their own as fantastic while everyone else is bad.

A note about Mexico, in a recent interview on CBS, the president of Mexico was discussing the cartels and the drug trafficking problem. When asked, "Why doesn't Mexico have the same demand, the same drug use problem as the US?" He responded, "Because we still have intact families and culture." EXACTLY. This is why it is basically more safe in Mexico. The people have basic morals abd decency. Decency in the USA is optional, like traffic laws.

Those arguments are garbage. For decades, the Mexican government refused to do anything about the Cartels as long as they did not sell drugs to the people in Mexico. Then the USA forced Mexican President Felipe Calderón (2006-2012) to declare war on them (and they Mexican govt lost) plunging the country into a worse civil war. The next government backed off from doing anything about the Cartels, but they don't even control vast areas in their own nation. And a significant number of the people selling drugs in the USA are illegal aliens from Mexico who sell directly or supply US street gangs. And they sell to their own community also in the USA. Drug cartels, which historically focused on exporting drugs, have increasingly targeted their domestic market to diversify their revenue streams. Cartels actively market and distribute drugs within Mexico now, as the "treaty" with the govt is no longer a thing.

It was Reagan’s war on drugs that did so much damage to the US and Latin America. What is great is that Mexico is embracing Keynesian economics!
@calamaridog2 күн бұрын
@@cynjhern You think that blaming the drug policy from 1984 is the answer? If it did not work, why did every single administration since Reagan double down on the same exact policies. Blaming Reagan is ludicrous 40 years later when they have continued the same nonsense. And Keynesian policies often lead to large government deficits and debt, stimulating demand excessively can cause inflation, reduce the purchasing power of money, and the heavy reliance on government intervention can crowd out US investors, which is the only way to improve Mexico.

Five reasons why Taiwan is attractive to expats: (1) High quality and inexpensive healthcare (2) Low crime, making it a safe place to work and live (3) Food. Many choices: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, American, European restaurants,etc. It’s actually cheaper to eat out than cooking your own meals at home. (4) Availability of stable, high speed Internet and much cheaper than the U.S. (5) A hub to travel to other parts of Asia within 5 hours, to Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, etc. Added bonuses: Most Taiwanese are friendly, especially to foreigners. You can go about living a normal life in Taipei, the capital city, without speaking Mandarin Chinese. If you’re LGBTQ, Taiwan will be a welcoming place because it has a vibrant community, and is the first Asian country that legally recognizes gay marriage. You don’t get that in other Asian countries, e.g., Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, etc. And since Taiwan is a free and democratic country, you don’t need to worry what might happen to you or your family if you say or do “the wrong thing”!

A top consideration should be the trend to future as regards the division of economic zones between USA allies vs BRICS, and the meteoric rise of China and BRICS. As the 2 big powers, with one on a steep decline and the other on a steep ascent, where might you live to best survive the economic changes. An advantage might go to a country that can pivot either way, to trade with both China and the USA. It appears undeniable that being in the BRICS or their sphere of influence would be advantageous. You don't want to be on the wrong side of trade barriers or embargoes against China, so look to predict those economic boundaries. Pity Australia as their proximity to China had them as Australia's biggest trade partner, but now they lost mega trade when siding with the USA with trade embargoes. Or look to the current experience of Germany with their extreme dependence on Russia for gas,; now with cold houses and idle factories. I'm a new subscriber, and this video is excellent, I look forward to viewing more. But I'm just hopeful that our Nomad would put more emphasis on the future trends, especially as relates to the division of the planet into 2 economic zones, and which do you want to be in. Also, as an investor, which military will you depend on to prevent the looting of your capital and how might your country of citizenship affect whether you will ultimately have financial protection? Surely all astute investors are aware the USA has a debt problem that will ultimately end in a crash like the world has never seen, so where to live then? Maybe this should be at the top of considerations now, as to where to live now that will still be a wise choice when TSHTF. (The Sh** Hits The Fan) I'm extremely interested in the Nomad's opinion on where to be when TSHTF.

I'm not sure "bragged" is the best term. I'm lamenting that I now feel the need to get Canadian citizenship by descent. I have ancestors who arrived here in the 1630s, who fought against the British, who fought for the Union. It's devastating that I no longer feel welcome in the U.S.

I prefer the countryside more than the cities in Malaysia and if I wasn’t married to a Filipina who can own land in the Philippines I would have been happy moving to Malaysia. I have a condo in Davao City and we have a farm in the country. Plus we have rental properties all throughout southeast Mindanao. Manila and the NCR are definitely cheaper than a lot of the places on the list, but the entire NCR is pretty pricey compared to other areas in the country. It is nice to visit, but I don’t ever want to live in that area of the country again. In Davao you can rent a furnished luxury condo with utilities included for $1200 USD or less on short term leases if you are trying to decide if it is for you. Cebu is a few hundred more for the same sort of place. Add several hundred more for the NCR for a comparable rental. With that said we have nice unfurnished 2 bedroom houses for rent in working class neighborhoods north of the city that we rent for $150 and that is hard to beat for affordability compared to any place on the list that isn’t out in the sticks.

That's not saying much since Mandela I had a wealthy Iranian friend move their from the us, I thought it was going to be permanently, but then he came back and called me I asked why he left, and he told a long story about all the corruption, how that their native friend had an old Mercedes that would have sold for about $1,000 in the us, but a policeman who had that route kept hiding it, and asked had an old Mercedes that would have sold for about $1,000 in the us, but a policeman who had that route kept eyeing it and asking if she wanted to sell it. Interesting. I have two friends that are doctors that both went there, one actually left his wife and move there after a visit, said it was Paradise A year or two later he came back and I saw him again and I let him talk for an hour straight telling me what are rotten place it was and how he'll never go back. He was ripped off multiple times he tried to start businesses and they back stabbed him and screwed him over. I said, I thought it was paradise? And he said yes if they know you're a tourist going there on vacation then they treat you like gold, but once they find out you're a permanent resident, then they're out to screw you over The other doctor who is actually friends of the first one, told me that unless you have everything fantastic and bolted down and even hire a security guard 24/7, the nature of the culture there is that you're telling them that you don't want your stuff and they're obligated to take it from you The first doctor who started the businesses, he thought it was so safe that he did not believe that so he that his security guard go, and next thing you know all his stuff was robbed He also said if you do any business there you have to hire two attorneys that don't know each other, the second one to look over the first one and make sure that he's not ripping you off

Again, it’s ironic when you say Mazal Tov for Bill o’Reilly going to Malaysia and when we pretend Malaysia is such an open and accepting country when they openly exclude only country from their passport being valid in. Again, just look at the first page of the Malaysian passport. They seem to be fine with everyone in the world except the “Mazal Tov” people. Oh the irony.

Just driving through these areas (because detours/GPS took me there) made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on their toes.😅 And yes.. In ANY of the countries mentioned, there are cities you can live in that are more affordable, and those that are more expensive than cities in other countries. I now live in Hua Hin Thailand and rented an apartment for $275 p/mo. Eat for $3 a meal, and I mean meal! On the other hand I was in Koh Samui for 3 months and it was 3 times the cost. Same with KL, there are places that are more expensive than Bangkok and those in line with Hua Hin. As far as Dangerous places, same thing. I was in Mexico for 6 months and spent most of my time in Merida which is ranked the third safest city in the Americas. Most of the Yucatan is much safer than the west coast areas of Mexico where the cartels have a much larger presence. Bill O’Reilly doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
