Eric, if you intend to close up that wall where the washer drain vent is, you may want to ditch the air admittance valve that you currently have on the vent, (they usually fail and stink up the place with sewer gasses) just extend the pipe up a little bit, and run it through the wall. It'll work just the same as running it through the roof. Also like others have mentioned, make sure that the glue and the pipe are compatible so you don't have any headaches down the road. I'm a big fan of seeing people tackle their own projects, so no negativity here, just trying to help lol. Carry on dude!

@ejs60106 ай бұрын
Nice dryer and washer. Consider making sketches and writing down measurements for wires, etc.
@brianvandy40026 ай бұрын
Not sure if anyone told you, but ABS is not PVC. PVC is usually used for potable water supply and is white. ABS is black and used for drains. You really should use ABS cement on ABS and PVC primer and cement (unless it's a dual purpose like you had) on PVC. The difference is they are NOT glues. They are solvents. What they do is not glue the pipes together, the slightly melt the plastic and when the solvent disperses the pieces are effectively welded together. You won't get a good 'weld' if you use the wrong solvent. Also, sanding isn't required unless the pipe has dirt on it. Again, the solvent is melting the plastic anyway, so you don't need to sand to get adhesion.

Usually you want to mount the Washer and Drier plugs higher. (about 3-4 feet, about the height of your washer and drier) That way you can unplug the machines without having to move them away from the wall. But usually they are installed in a tight location or cubbyhole without side access. So yours plugs will be ok. But as others have pointed out, you wrapped the black wire on the hot terminal of the outlet we saw, the wrong direction. (did Clockwise instead of counter-clockwise.) BEFORE you do your drywall, remove the outlets/switches so you can cut the drywall to a snug fit around the boxes. (top and bottom) Otherwise you will need spacers to bring the outlet flush with the drywall when you reinstall them. (Been there done that way to many times, cause they cut the drywall with a big gap around the boxes.) Also I would cutr back some of the straight pipe for the drier vent, so there are fewer bends in the duct. Right now it looks like you have six 90° bends in the vent duct. If you can cut it back so its shorter it may let you cut that back to three bends.... I LOVE the Magnetic Dryer Vent Couplings. more expensive, but much easier to hook up and lets you make the vent outlet flush with the drywall.

Anther STRONG suggestion: Looks great glad your getting comforts of a home. You can cut the tube you pushed through the wall and move the dryer closer to the exhaust outlet so you don’t have an elbow in the flex tubing. The less turns in the exhaust the better to keep lint from building up in the exhaust tube plus having too many elbows will significantly reduce the dryer’s efficiency and that lint buildup can cause a fire.

I am happy to see that you have broken away from the laundromat dependency. You should save enough on gas to cover your expenses in a short time. When we were snowbirding in Zona, we found that the air is so dry down there that the first item you hang up is dry by the time you hang the last one, so we didn't use the dryer much when the sun was out, which was most of the time. I suggest you stuff steel wool all around the drain pipe where it exits the building; this is very effective for keeping critters from squeezing in. Lastly, you should move that wire that is right under the dryer output on the outside of the shed.
