To add context from a lore perspective in a real general sense ( gonna skip over details obviously ) Essentially the Diablo world was angels and demons fighting forever; humans didnt exist yet in the story ( sanctuary is like our earth basically for comparison sake ). Inarius ( the angel in the scene ) hated the idea of just fighting forever and ever. Well coincidently Lilith ( the demon you see ) had the same feelings about it; so they ultimately came together to birth i guess you could say half breads basically..but their the humans of the game. No one knew about it for a long time..sanctuary was like their home away from the conflict but inarius started to have cold feet about things and what he did and felt she seduced him and actually made humans weaker with his power. Lilith was on the viewpoint of let people be whatever they wanna be ( even if that means killing..cuz well shes a demon.. ) and long term use them as a army to stand up and fight the war to sorta end the conflict. Ultimately that didnt happen..heaven & hell found out..started a big war..Lilith got bannished basically and as a peace treaty of sorts the heavens gave the demons inarius cuz they disowned him forever. This game was Lilith being brought back and inarius getting free and them coming together again to have their parental Tiff more less lol.. Inarius feels he can redeem himself and go back to heaven if he kills her and alls forgiven and lilith wants to finish what she started in raising humans to fight for themselves to defend against demons and angels alike. Their "Son" in this context of the scene is Rathma; he was their first child they had together who lived for ages due to necromancy ( hence why he was still around ) and he killed him in order to find a way to hell ( to get to this point ). So the scene is her really telling him he's naive for thinking he can go back..the choice they made together was a one way street and was dumb ( in her eyes ) to throw away what they had over it. Essentially was a hey..you cant go back home so this IS your new home..start to except that; we made a choice cuz of something we both believed so own that shit more less. For those that have played the game already; most tend to side with mom on this one and think dad's sorta a prick lol

Great reaction. The prevauling theory is that Inarius becomes Satan, or the equivalent. Heaven didn't want him back and he has been warped by both the Prime Evil of Hatred and was slain by Hatred's daughter.
