I like the versatility you have in your mechanical skills. A master mechanic. The videos are entertaining to watch. You just don't work on cars but all kinds of vehicles. I been watching for almost 2 years. And not disappointed at all.

If MIT had a Shop Class called Reverse Obsolesence 101: Good Schematics,+ Honest Diagnostics + The great Work ethic & curiosity to see problems to solutions. AKA Repair almost anything. Chris would be guy to teach it. I would really like to see channel do custom EV conversions, get that home & barn shop land on something affordable but spacious, get a water table and/or 3d printer for custom parts for made in USA. That said, when you gonna do a barge or car ferry boat? A Sailboat that takes show international? I wonder what barn/lighthouse finds you might find off Greenland, Canada, or especially Cuba. Because of the former embargo Cubans took to maintenance and restoration of mechanical constructs to an art form. They got Taxis from the 40s and 50s still running a 12hr work day. Would be funny to see NNKH team seeing cars or even engines of classic infrastrucure, in awe, of their still running and some even in pristine condition. A "how the #%$@ is this thing still going" regular piece where commentors can suggest sites. NNKH goes and checks it out, stays politely glib, viewers can posit theories in comments and then youtube famous engineers and scientists do cameos and offer most probable explanations. I have no idea who could afford to pay for all that. But I would watch it. I get it if yall stay local 😊like a garage band though. Too many soups, cooks, chiefs, and all that. Great videos. (:

Chris and Jen, I have to say it is a total pleasure watching 2 people who love life, and each other. I enjoy learning from you and see the life I could have had without the hiccups I had decades ago. I rebuild a bayliner much like your trashliner, it had a Volvo Penta engine and outdrive with a rotted out interior, it was a fun project and expanded my marine knowledge, became a marine mechanic, well was certified but never went down that road. Your jeep reminds me of my favorite car I had, a 1965 Buick skylark, 4 door, rusted out floors, and trunk, and a weak suspension, I was working for an electrician at the time and bottomed out the car so many times I put a hole in the gas tank, repaired and kept another year, fast, light and fun to drive. Anyhow, rebuilt a few Honda motorcycles. Watching you guys brings back memories. Keep smiling and keep going, Jen you have a beautiful voice and a personality any good man would love to have by his side. Sorry for the long email. Gus, Leo and Turbo along with the chicks are the hoot. Jim

Chris, I have an '89 chris craft cavalier with the EXACT same drive combo / 3.0 merc and alpha one drive. It's an amazing setup for cruising around the lake, bulletproof, and great on gas. Bought my boat sitting for 4 years and basically gave it the same work you did- mine needed a new ignition setup, anti siphon valve, fuel pump, carb, water pump impeller, starter, and other small odds and ends. These motors are a dream to work on and the block originated from a 60s GM design. If you ever struggle getting the lower unit installed, inspect the condition of the copper water pickup tube and housing. They can become swollen or melted from previous overheating and not let the lower unit seal back together. Can be an absolute nightmare, took me like a week to figure out. You accomplished the same amount of work I did in about 10x faster... LOL. It was my first time working with points so great learning curve. Enjoy that boat!

Sometimes algae builds up in the check ball on the fuel sending unit. You can take them apart and clean them up and it usually fixes the issue of no flow from the tank . And I have a Volvo Penta v6 and omc out drive in a 1996 20 foot Sea Arrow. It's a center console setup. Pretty rare not many around the model is a V 200, and you are right about the impeller pump being easier to deal with. I love that boat it's definitely worth saving. People knock on inboard/outboards but I love mine. Yeah they take a bit more work to maintain but I really like the rear space and the torque of the inboard. Mine is a Volvo Penta v6 4.3 but it's been rebuilt with higher compression and a bigger cam and has a 4 BBL Holley carburetor on it . I have some videos up on my KZbin.
