Thanks, great video, I have to redo the whole motor because one of the two forks on the water pump broke off, really big job! Probably the oil pump jammed which broke off one of the forks on the water pump, thanks again your video is very helpful.

Great video, no background music or long winded intro. Need to change out my Rhino 450 starter clutch, this and your stator video should be very helpful. Hope that the 450 isn't much different than the 600...

Thanks for the video, big help for sure! When putting it back together did the big gear behind the magneto have play in it? I don’t mean turning the gear, I mean in and out play. Mine has maybe 1/8 of an inch play and can’t remember if it did that before I took it apart.

Awesome video man. I'm currently inside the cover right now changing the starter clutch. Do you happen to know the torque spec for the flywheel / magneto where the idler gear sits for the crankshaft?

The drive belt? Yeah these are generally known for that happening too. Good to carry a spare. $400 seems steep. And thanks

Thanks for the advise, I’m working on a heavy used 2005, my next project on the rhino is the shifter. On mine, I see a plug on top of the case behind the shifter cover. I can’t find anything that mentions what that reservoir contains since mine was empty. Do you have any info on what should be added gear oil/Yamaha oil? Wondering since there is a 17mm plug there. I can send pics

Hey quick question, the gear that doesn’t have a key way. How does it turn the motor over if it doesn’t have a key to lock it in place?
@NoNonsenseKnowHow2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure which part of the video you referring to and what it looks like. It's been a while since I did this but you might be talking about a sprag clutch or starter clutch it's called. Freely spins one way and locks up going the other way
@tunetime24243 жыл бұрын
If I had seen the play in the new chain I would have been worried! That old chain was wacky loose. Cheap pins and bushings is my guess, and/or maybe it's slapping more than the chain can handle. Great video.
@NoNonsenseKnowHow3 жыл бұрын
Yeah wacky loose for sure. From what I have read, it's pretty standard to have some play in these chains. I still feel like Yamaha could have easily added a cheap tensioner to soak up the slack...

Thanks for the excellent video! Do you have any idea how the gear behind the flywheel/starter clutch gear comes off of the crank? I'm replacing a timing chain (which I actually already have off) but want to check the key in the timing chain gear which is behind the gear that I'm having trouble removing). Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

It looks like a bike chain why couldn't you just pop out 2 links?
@NoNonsenseKnowHow3 жыл бұрын
I originally thought about doing that but it would be too tight if two links were removed. In fact you wouldn't even be able to get it back on. Unlike I'll bicycle wheel, there is no back-and-forth adjustment on this
@krotchlickmeugh6272 жыл бұрын
Because when a bike chain snaps. Youre walking. When this one snaps. Youre also walking. But with $2699.99 for a new engine. Rather than $2 for a master link in your bicycle
