John Salley wasn't a dick so he didn't get the pure hatred that Laimbeer, Dumars, and Isiah got. Even worse for Isiah was implying Magic was gay and it took years for them to talk to each and forgive each other. I mean you win, but at what costs. MJ showed that in The Last Dance. Joe Dumars burned all bridges? The current head of NBA basketball operations? The guy who the NBA's sportsmanship award has been named after since the season after he retired? Laimbeer openly loved his role as the heel, and he was able to follow up his playing days by becoming arguably the most successful coach in WNBA history, so I don't think he's devastated over "losing friends" or whatever. And that's not getting into guys like Mahorn, Aguirre, and Vinnie Johnson. This is an exhausting topic, because people will just kind of exaggerate/believe the worst, and because these are the guys who opposed some of the most popular players in league history, these narratives rarely get challenged.

@@RVeredThe Pistons gave hard fouls to ANYONE coming to score in the paint. The funny thing is, back then, most teams in the eastern conference played like that: the Celtics who also won championships like that, the Knicks, the 76ers, and so on. The Pistons were just more effective doing it by the time they won championships. With that being said, when the Pistons played Jordan, the moment Jordan went to the basket, all the Pistons players on the court close enough to him would collapse on him to foul him as hard as possible and put him on the floor. Those tactics were so effective cause back then Jordan wouldn't pass the ball that often - be it because he didn't trust his teammates or because he had an ego. But regardless, those tactics on guarding him were nicknamed the 'Jordan rules' by the media. And those other teams in the eastern conference copied those 'Jordan rules' after the Pistons had a measure of success with them.

Whoa, rare to hear someone mention Jordan's comments about the Pistons being undeserving the game before the walkout! So funny to hear in interviews how the Bulls expected a respectful passing of the torch after JUST saying to the press how they didn't believe the Pistons ever deserved to have that torch. (I also found it even more funny that one of the issues that Jordan "took personally" was someone waiting to trash talk until they had the upper hand. And yet the first time Jordan ever publicly questions the Bad Boys' champion status is AFTER the Bulls get a 3-0 lead).

The Bulls didnt beat Pistons when because they were aging. This is a huge myth. Their oldest star is Bill Laimbeer at 33, while Thomas, Dumars, and Rodman were all below 30 and still in their primes. The Bulls were just that good that year.

Both Michael Jordan (MJ) and Isiah Thomas hail from Chicago and are among the greatest basketball players from the city. MJ is known for his intense competitiveness, taking everything personally, which fueled his extraordinary performances on the court. However, this intensity sometimes had its downsides. His comments in "The Last Dance" documentary, for instance, saddened his teammates and the management of the Chicago Bulls. Isiah Thomas, on the other hand, is remembered fondly by his teammates for his leadership. His role was pivotal in leading the Detroit Pistons to two NBA championships, triumphing over teams led by MJ, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson. Notably, Isiah delivered one of the most remarkable performances in NBA Finals history, scoring 25 points in a single quarter on essentially one leg.

Ppl act like they gotta be friends. But why? Yeah, holding grudges after all them years is crazy but that ain't none of our business. Their feud runs deep, both played their part. Some ppl think that Zeke is innocent but he made some insane comments about his best friend Magic by sayin that the reason he has HIV was because Magic was a homosexual. Magic, bless his heart, had the strength to forgive him for it. Mj and Zekes beef runs deep.

Thomas has nerve to say Jordan should apologize to him for talkin' smack about him in Last Dance and on television. Thomas is guilty of throwing shade when he basically agreed with Dennis Rodman when Dennis talked smack about Bird after being beaten by the Celtics in the playoffs, again. In an interview, he said if Bird was a Black man, he'd be no big deal. Also In an interview soon after, Thomas basically agreed. He quickly realized his mistake knowing Larry would hear about it. Isiah profusely apologized to Larry. Bird didn't care what Isiah or Rodman felt about him, he told Isiah not to worry about it. Thomas was a prima donna and so was Rodman. In the end, Isiah should have greeted Jordon in that elevator. He would have been an Olympic champ on the DREAM TEAM...

Don’t try to give the pistons a safety net by saying they got tired. Phil Jackson came up with a strategy for the rule
@davidelsea12962 ай бұрын
Triangle offense, jordan putting on muscle. Pippen coming into his own and horace grant. Then the flagrant foul rule was put in. That rule rright there destroyed the pistons.

Actually, they kind of bridged the gap. They won as Boston got old and injured and the Lakers were a bit on the downside to. But I won't dispute that the 90s were a bit weaker.

He don’t need friends. Thomas was , is and will always be jealous of MJ. Isaiah was wrong on a number of issues and Jordan should have a grudge. Thomas is likely an angel who don’t know why Jordan don’t like him. However without Isaiah we would not have witnessed the player who’s become the GOAT as we know him. Time for both to fess up and drop the cap.
