NOOK LINE & SINKER | Animal Crossing: New Horizons Song!

In Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons you are once more tasked with guiding a gaggle of fuzzy friends to prosperity via the medium of hunting for insects, gathering seashells and making polite conversation.
It's certainly not something I'd typically make a song about... Until someone pointed out to me that you are beholden to a corrupt capitalist raccoon! Sure he SAYS all that money goes to an orphanage... But can he PROVE it?
To those of you hoping for the Doom Eternal song I had been teasing, sadly the project has been delayed. But it is on the way! With the unprecedented global situation right now, the video shoot had to be cancelled. I'm currently working on adapting the video into something I can make from home with my more limited space and equipment.
It's a scary world out there right now. Stay safe and make good choices everyone. We'll get through it.

I know this song isn't one of your newest anymore, but I came to say that I think it contains my favourite line that you've ever performed. I know it's not technically impressive or challenging like some of your others, but this one just sticks in my head like glue. "Or I’ll add a ‘No Pets’ clause, it wouldn’t be hard and I’ll have every resident... live... in the garden!" It has such a gleeful malice and is almost mad-with-power in the delivery, such effective dramatic pauses, and of course is set up perfectly to rhyme with 'yard' only to switch to garden like the little yorkshire critter he is. I lost it the first time I heard this part of the song, and every time I've listened since I still get a big dumb grin on my face. Thank you

I’d just like to point out that narcissistic personality disorder, or “narcissism” is a mental disorder generally stemming from low self esteem and isn’t a choice for people who do have the disorder, and there are multiple forms of narcissistic personality disorder beyond just seeing one’s self as better or above others. (Obviously) mental disorders aren’t to be used as an insult towards people just because they have traits that may appear as symptoms of said disorder, but I assume you understand that. Of course the whole reason I write so many comments like this is to spread awareness that narcissistic personality disorder is a disorder, not just a trait, even though media generally portrays it as such, so I don’t fault you or the countless others who assumed that or used “narcissism” as an insult. The chorus is my absolute favorite part of this song. It shows the residents' suffering and especially the first part of the chorus' with the five residents happy in the first chorus, pleading in the second Chorus, and how Tom Nook COMPLETELY takes over the final Chorus, replacing some lyrics, and changing the sound of some of the beat. This song goes hard and even without the rest of the song and just the chorus this would still be on repeat (and the rest of the song goes hard too)

I love this so much. I love this take on Nook. The understated nature makes for such a uniquely sophisticated and sinister set piece. It sounds calculating, precise, and insistent. The strings in the background create this weirdly mournful feeling, like this isn’t the villain reveal “this is what you’re up against” song near the second act. This is the climactic “you realize they’ve won, and you realize you’ve lost” villain song near the end of the final act. It’s not a story about overcoming the selfish, greedy powers that be. It’s a story about how they always win and you always lose. It sounds like a villain song from a theater play, like something you’d see on Broadway (the only theater circuit I know off the top of my head) or something. I can imagine the staging of the actors. Tom Nook lit in foreground talking to the mayor character while Nook is putting on his tailcoat and top hat outfit. The slaving villagers, driven by Timmy and Tommy, singing the chorus in the background. The sets changing subtly as the song reaches its climax. Fantastic job, The Stupendium team. Absolutely fantastic job. Also, I like how when Blathers’ house falls apart, the sign says “OH NO.”
