The fan event was basically a concert, just simpler and less formal (no extravagant sets, or custom costumes) although they definitely performed HARD that night. They performed 7 dance heavy songs back to back, if I'm not mistaken. It's the first time I've ever seen them ready to drop. The fans voted for their favourite ballads and dance performances, and SHINee got to give their own picks. Personally, I think SHINee gave it their all because this was their last "concert" as a group before Onew's enlistment. Shawols put up a crowd message saying 'We are proud of you' when SHINee were giving their closing comments, which led to Onew crying. Taemin made the fans do a pinky promise to wait for SHINee to return one day.

Taemin has been vocally coached by Jonghyun. SHINee used to send him to school during their pre debut and debut days because he was bullied. Jonghyun is also a writer / novelist / poet. He is the only one who had not officially debuted as an actor among them 5. Onew has a masteral and doctorate in a music degree. Minho has found it difficult to rap and sing at first because of his lisps.And probably because he is the 1st one to debut as an actor among the 5, the techniques used by actors to avoid lisps helped him too. Key is the triple threat when they debuted (vocal, rap, dance) and he can memorise any dance by one to few glances only. SHINee is the 1st kpop group to be acknowledged by their South Korean president and been appointed as ambassadors. They promoted themselves in the streets during their debut. They were supposed to be a rap group. They were called experimental group not only for music, dance, fashion but also for variety shows. It's not only them who made trends and left trademarks but also shawols. :D A lot more to learn about them. A long way to go. Please watch their Hello Baby variety show and watch their Hong Kong Festival concert wwhere they performed under the typhoon.

Hi Yetti, glad to see new SHINee content. Just wanted to make a comparison of two events at Tokyo Dome from 2018: FROM NOW ON concert vs SPECIAL FAN EVENT. The concert had a longer set list (32 songs), props, dancers while the fan meet had an MC, shorter set list (19 songs), more talk time and such.

Fan Event is more like a Fan Meet. Concert, 3 hrs or so VS Fan Event, 1.5 hrs plus minus. Concert, Performance Heavy, 30-song setlist VS Fan Event, less performances, more talks, games, etc. But I attended this Tokyo Dome Fan Event and still a blast (though I didn’t understand Japanese). Concert or Fan Event... any SHINee Event is still super fun!

a fan meeting lasts a little less than a concert and the fans and idols get to play around most of the time. they don’t perform many songs too, they take it easy, it’s more like a fun time with fans while a concert is filled with performances and you don’t have many moments to play around

The fan event is kind of like a massive fan meet. Other groups also do it but not as big of an extent. The fan events have a more relaxed setting than a concert where idols can talk to their fans and they also can perform. It looks really fun!

I don't know if you've reacted to this but Onew is coming back soon and he sang Selene 6.23 on Sea of Hope with Sunwoo Jungha. It would be lovely to see a reaction from you (compared to the other duets from the show that people have reacted to, there's maybe less than a handful for this performance). For some context, the song was written by Jonghyun and 6.23 was the night of a Supermoon. The song is about being far away from someone you love, in this case that someone turned out to be the moon. Seeing it's beauty from afar but would never be able to get close. (Edit: I've removed my previous text about it being written specifically for international shawols. Apparently, SHINee performed the song at a concert in Mexico and Taemin dedicated it to their fans since they're so far away, but the song wasn't written with that in mind.) It's also Onew's favourite song. Sea of Hope has an official channel with English subs. There's a separate scene leading up to the performance that adds context to the song and Onew's state of mind at the time. I don't listen to Replay everyday but I do believe It is the song I have listened to most in my life. And I listen to lots of song from different genre and countries. But It is at the Top of my fav songs, has been since 2010, the time I saw it for the first time. It just gives me so much happiness and I can't not dance to this song. It's easy, groovy, it's timeless and I still haven't recovered from the bamboo beating beats in the music. And that's why I often listen to the instrumental version of this song religiously. I always say, If I ever went in a Coma, this is the song they need to wake me up.

Every time I slip into a SHINee nostalgia, it reminds me of how much I miss Jonghyun and everything he's given us, which in turn reminds me of how badly Korea still needs to change their toxic pressuring society so people's lives aren't ended so prematurely. There's actually an updated 2021 version called something like "SHINee STILL setting the bar so high..." and I'd love to watch you react to that too if you want to! As for live streams, I think diving more into their solos would be fun to watch. I also think just watching a full concert would be fun, you don't have to do the whole thing at once if you can't but maybe break them up into 1-1.5 hour long chunks? Either way, I'm happy we're getting more SHINee again! ☺️

re:Onew's Long freaking note. a lot of opera singers are trained to breathe in through their nose while simultaneously pushing notes out their mouth, it's why they can hit the volume and pitch and length they can. as onew was learning the art..... yeahhh.. I'm not sure if he can still do that since he'd had his throat surgery, though also years and years later, i still listen to replay more than i probably should because i'm still so in love with it.

Back in 2010, there's Lucifer fever in so many countries around the world, people made covers & dance challenge videos, even in the year when social media is not as huge as now. So many countries held special dance courses to learn Lucifer choreo & people in the US was the luckiest since Rino Nakasone (the choreographer) taught the dance course directly.

I think a great video to react to would be how other idols love Shinee, it really shows the influence and inspiration, some of the most successful idols decided to audition because of shinee and a lot of their songs are covered by younger generations and especially Haechan from NCT (actually NCT in gernal are big shawols) and Hoshi from Seventeen are such big shawols their own fans bruying them shinee merch as presents at their fanmeetings

If you get a chance, please watch the tribute song for Jonghyun (From Now On - SHINee World Best of 2018). This performance took place less than 6 months after his passing. There are 5 microphones/spotlights on stage, the boys are wearing white suits with a red rose, and they incorporated Jonghyun's voice in parts of the performance. Minho painfully looks to the empty mic during his vocals and Onew and Key breakdown at the end. It's both beautiful and heartbreaking. I have never been able to watch it without crying like a baby. Love them to pieces............

Shinee is well known for not being able to lip sync. They're so bad at it they're basically nah we'll sing live wherever & whenever. Even when shooting for music videos where lip sync is required, they sing instead.

Their outstanding videos were many, but here ae a few: "The Eye" "The Chaser" "Before the Dawn" SHINee is my always and forever favorite, but Infined was great.
