But random shot timings are due to altered animations, so they are necessary as well.. soooo many players still use the left right dribble technique even with the new speed burst bars. 2K23 adds a bit of the Chess aspect & you see this in 1 v 1 Galleon

The real problem with this 2k is paint defense, slithery finisher, limitless, and the dunk meter. The combination of those things causes you to get beat the second they get near the free throw because they will get put in an unblock able animation. And you can literally play perfect defense and someone can have a terrible release with the dunk meter and it will still go in. Shooting isn’t a problem, take better shots and you won’t have so many different timings.

Bro….. the shot speed-changes require skill to be able to verify the speed change and still hit the cue… having the same timing every time no matter what ISN’T skill full?! It’s muscle memory…. Your suggestion would just make it easier for people to cheat with shooting using zens and strike packs like it was a few years ago. I like how the shooting is now. If a defender is closing out you would have to speed up your shot in real life vs if you were wide open. This system makes sense. All you have to do is watch for your visual cue. The release point never changes. Its not that hard. Probably harder for meter users

When I look at the best 3pt NBA players they can knock down shots at the same speed regardless if they are wide open or contested.

I think 2k has to remove or update certain animations. An example would be catching a pass. There have been so many times a of mine teammate would throw down court to wide open teammate, and the animation would so drastically bad it makes the pass attempt like a dumb idea even there is a wide open man down court. Plus, the animation they get won't even catch the ball properly, making them get a turnover.

I agree that all the different timings are crazy and aren’t all that good for the game BUT I feel if they were way more predictable it wouldn’t be so bad. But we know for 2k, perfecting that mechanic would probably be near impossible so I do agree they should just do away with it next year. Also before season 4 I felt like shooting was as close to perfect as this year was going to get, whatever they did at the start of the season just screwed it all up. 2K23 as a whole tho has been my favorite 2k since 20 🤷🏾‍♂️
