I prefer the Studio and Velvet grand to the White grand. To me, the white sounds like it's being played with metallic hammers in the mids and treble. The mellow upright sound like a good choice for a lot of jazz compositions.

Are the mid to high notes a little too harsh or bright to anyone else’s ears ? Or is it just my ear buds and this recording ? Great playing btw

I noticed the same on my Electro 6 when playing the White Grand XL. It seems that the XL samples are more naturally inconsistent as they are recorded individually and that makes them sound with more "imperfections" like a real piano. There two ways to solve this: use a simpler sample of the same sound (Large/Medium) or just use the EQ settings to reduce the pitch of the high notes. Personally I prefer bright pianos, but yes I'm using my Grado SR80e and it could be too piercing at higher volumes.

I like it. Very good demo. Could you let us know which acoustic grand patch you were using? To me it sounded almost to percussive, like the hammers were harder than most other grands. I’ve heard other demos of the same model that had a less percussive sound. As if a Yamaha C7 would be compared to a Steinway B.

Beautiful instrument, but after a deep comparison I bought the Kawai MP11SE. The best piano sound, the best key action, the best in it’s class. However, the Nord has a much more flexible sound capability by saving new sounds into the memory.

It's a piano.Layers ,you cand do thousands better on various synths.Here the goal was to have a great keybed and great piano sounds.Personally i don't care about the sample synth section .It;s worthless.With no pitch bend,etc.Pianos.It;s called Nord Grand.And for that they id the job.Anyway ,the recording of the piano is really ''glassy'' here.

I was so hyped about this instrument and drove to the next music store in the closest city and what can I say... I was so disapointed! The keys are way too loose and "wobbly" for my liking and the resistance of every key was exactly the same on the low as on the high notes. For me coming from a concert grand and playing mostly classical music, the Nord Grand was way weaker in its appearance than many of the other instruments I palyed in my life. Even way worse than my Roland FP-50, which is the stagepiano I am playing right now.

I honestly have better sounding software acoustic and electric pianos on my iPad that cost under $50. This has an extremely digital, lifeless sound. It completely lacks character. And, it’s over $4000. Are you kidding? I don’t think so!

@@scaryrobot who are you to insult me? I know exactly what I’m talking about. I have been playing in bands for over 50 years. I have used many brands and models of keyboards, both hardware and software. It’s you who doesn’t know what you’re talking about, or you wouldn’t make uneducated statements like that. Are you one of those keyboard players that simply pushes the button marked acoustic piano. If it sounds good, hooray! If it doesn’t, you don’t know how to make the adjustments necessary to improve it. I have been programming and improving the sounds of all types of keyboards since I purchased my first synthesizer (ARP Odyssey) in 1971. I am extremely fussy about the sounds I use. And, I do have software pianos, that to me, sound better than the Nord.
