I love DJ Curtin. I remember going to the Barbary Coast every Tuesday when I lived in Las Vegas and listening to the Irish Show Band. Frankie Carrol would always have seats up front for me and my family. I love all these guys. They were so much fun and just a great bunch of guys.

I first heard this song over 35 years ago when I was working at WROL in Boston. The station hosted a hugely popular program on Saturdays called The Irish Hit Parade and this song was a big favorite with the listeners.

I was in Carrick au Suir way back in 95 or 96? It was during the Rose of Tralee and it was pissing rain. The water came up quite high. The locals told me it was the worst rain and flooding in over 20 years.

DJ Curtin is from Tralee Co. Kerry, he played with the Kerry Blues, then moved to Vegas with Brendan Boyer (I never rated Brendan’s voice). Some other songs that DJ makes a brilliant job of are, Will they remember me, Jacqueline and Almost Persuaded.

We saw DJ Curtin and Mark Lean (Emerald Elvis) at a show a good few years ago, here in County Kerry. My mother knew DJ very well as they were both from Tralee. DJ was very down to earth and came over to her after the show for a chat.
