Sweet Az is an eclectic musical trio based in the Far North with versatile musical expression and high energy. The band consists of three experienced and talented musicians whose diverse repertoire covers everything from Rock ‘n Roll classics to modern top-chart hits. Mack Lynn is their steadfast drummer who packs a punch with every hit. He has played in various original and cover bands throughout the Northland and Waikato regions since the age of 14. Mack had worked informally with the renowned Kimbra before her rise to stardom but is best known by Bay Of Islands locals for his work with the covers trio Three Is A Crowd. Rawhiti Turnbull (bass guitar) is a multi-instrumentalist with exceptional rhythmic and melodic prowess. He has an impressive professional history being a session musician in Australia for 20 years. During this time he had residences in Star City Casino Sydney for 8 years and formed part of the resident band under the famous Coke sign in Kings Cross, Sydney for 5 years. Rawhiti has toured with Che Fu and Stan Walker. On vocals and guitar is Erick Gerber whose emphatic focus on detail and ability to execute highly technical passages is contrasted by his soulful feel, voice and versatility - a byproduct of his broad musical tastes and formal musical education (BMus Hons). He is originally from South Africa, where he was involved with successful local acts such as Robbie Wessels, Jesse Clegg and Red Helen. Sweet Az, in their current lineup, was only formed in mid-2022 but their combined experience makes them more-than-qualified to bring nearly any party or event to life.
