I voted and took my 84 year old mother to vote in Virginia. I appreciate all that you do and I pray we still have a democracy. I still am in complete shock that even educated people are supporting the republican candidates despite all that is at stake. This is a bigger problem that will not go away any time soon.

Marc, you have to help craft an ironclad voting rights bill with the new congress, next year. No more ID requirements. 6 million registered voters, are disenfranchised by these ridiculous, unecessary laws. You know which States, and you know which demographics these Republican laws affect. If they want an ID, it needs to be provided by governments free of charge. Voting is a right!
@jackielobin7100Ай бұрын
Spot on!
@IndigoBlue1984Ай бұрын
Wow, I just thought of that. It costs $ to get an ID. And that being a requirement would be the same as a poll tax. Illegal.

@mobius9818Ай бұрын
So hopeful! Wonderful to know that SOS are our (unsung) heroes in many many states. I have deep admiration for their network and their precedent setting model legislation. I wish for this work to continue until our elections are safe and secure (which I think they used to be, but recently corrupted).
@conniemazasАй бұрын
If you are new to voting, have no fear. The election workers are there to help you. I have been voting since Kennedy and every time I go there, I have a question that I think I should know. Believe me, these workers will walk you through anything you need to do, BUT, they will not touch your ballot. So VOTE, make your voice heard by voting; as loud as the roar of a lion.

This is not quite on the topic of this video, but I need this to be addressed. Tonight on the New York Rangers hockey radio feed, they played an advertisement for what they called legal betting on the presidency house Senate races in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut through an app they called Kalshi. This must be immediately investigated and stopped tonight! Please get the legal folks on and start talking about this. Deeply disturbing.

@gauss17Ай бұрын
Thanks - great programming. My concern is that you have presented folk from 4 states that are actively trying to address the problems and are all confident that they have succeeded in doing so. What about the other 46? We should hear from the other end of the spectrum also. If this is the gold standard, what the other end of the distribution doing? I am sure that, in the middle, there are many states that are of the view that their existing processes are sufficient and that they don’t need to allocate incremental resources to ensure more robust electoral systems and that, on the opposite side of things, there are states that are actively taring down systems with the goal of ensuring questionable elections. Is there any independent organization ranking states on their legislative and procedural preparedness/willingness to run robust elections? Who are the bad guys we should worry about .. I suppose I can guess a few but it would be nice to have some data driven ranking! Unfortunately, with these issues it does not suffice if the majority of states are in good shape. Is there anything that can be, or is being, done at the federal level to ensure that states who might be motivated to throw a monkey in the works, are unable to do so?
