OMG, I literally did this for my older brother! (I'm an INFJ, ofc) It was nearing his birthday. I barely ever see him, but at one point, I had watched some Archer videos with him and noticed he loved them. So when I walked past Archer Season 8 on a shelf at a local store, I nabbed it. He was shocked when he opened the giant box in which I placed the singular DVD. Best gift I've gotten for him lol 😂

That one spoke to me the most.
@charmanderlover64334 ай бұрын
I'm going to be perfectly honest. If I ever get a boyfriend and he comes up to me awkwardly and explains that he wanted to get me a gift, but wanted it to be a really thoughtful gift, but everything he could think of he didn't think it was thoughtful enough and ended up not getting anything, I'd start crying because that is genuinely the sweetest thing I've heard. It shows that he wants to find something that would be special, not just any old thing that I may or may not need, but something personal, something that a lot of thought went into. I don't care if he got me something or not, but just knowing that he was thinking of me and wanted to find something but couldn't find anything satisfactory in his eyes is so more than enough. It's okay, hypothetical imaginary INFJ boyfriend, I just appreciate you thinking of me and your effort to find something truly special. Edit: It occurs to me that I should specify. If this were to happen GENUINELY in a HEALTHY relationship, this would be my genuine reaction. NOT if the guy is pretending and in reality just forgot so he pulled this out of his back pocket to use as an excuse. But if he genuinely took the time to think and really tried to come up with something, but couldn't and honestly and sheepishly admits what had been going on in his head to me like what Frank showed, I would simply be touched by his honesty and his desire to find something thoughtful special for me. And for those wondering, INFP here.

On second thought it depends on how stable the atmosphere's going to be. Not to mention how far into the relationship-meeting the grandmother is pretty serious... After you've spent that much time worrying about people it's best you don't invite her after all. Thoroughly exhausting to deal with that much mental stressload.

LOL INTJ Girlfriend responses: ;) "I know I look bad, but I don't know why." "I have a book for that. Let me just go get it, and we'll fix you right up." "You are so wrong, and I am probably wrong, too, so there's really no reason to have a conflict." "Hmm... You may be correct. But being wrong is bad. Let's run some hypotheticals so we can figure out what our actual problem is and fix it." "I think the reason our relationship works so well is because you interpret my maladaptive ways ... as charming quirks." "Well, yes. That is correct. Everyone has flaws. The trick is finding someone whose flaws either don't bother you or are complementary to your own. That would be why we're made for each other." "Let's watch this movie .. I want to watch your reaction." "Not sure if I should be flattered or sad that we won't get to share the experience of seeing it the first time together. Are you bracing for me to give it a scathing critique?" "I wanted to get you a gift... so I got you nothing." "Aww. You're overthinking this and that has made me sad. Should I make you a calendar with gift categories like they do for anniversary years so that each month you give me a small gift in that category? Would it keep you from tailspinning? "Sometimes I think about the unlucky guys ..." "Ooo, so this is the beginning of your villain arc? Sounds fun. Why not enjoy it as a game for now since you'd be conflicted by it in real life. Also there are many alternate universes and timelines where I'd be with those guys and you'd be with someone else. This is just the one where we get to enjoy being together. " "So what you're saying is you want me to propose to you? Okay. I didn't want to step on your toes." "Good. So that's over and clear and we're now engaged. But since you were so off the cuff about it, you get the job of planning our romantic getaway celebration." "Sorry girlfriend, I need recovery time from grandma's birthday." "Okay. So we'll stay in, I'll cook you dinner, and we'll watch a movie so that we don't have to talk."

"jumping into an alligator's mouth to see how it makes her 'feel'." This doesn't sound INFJ at all. INFJs are known to be very calculated, careful and like to plan ahead thanks to Ni. @@J.Panxer yes, it was obvious that it was a hyperbole. Wasn't it clear that I commented on the underlying message that you wanted to convey through it? I doubt we'll be able to understand each other. But to exemplify: It's like me describing my INTJ friend as "a golden retriever who wants to tackle hug you, and his barks are nonsensical background happy noises." This "hyperbole" represents a state that doesn't apply to an INTJ. The same way your descriptions are unrelatable to an INFJ. Chaotic, seeking to experience emotions first hand, risk taking...etc

@fishnewt13314 ай бұрын
That gift one was funny. My personal flavor of INFJ is not contemplating what gift to get someone. Rather, it’s contemplating whether I should get them a gift to begin with and fold anyways thinking about an improbable situation where they are disappointed I didn’t get them a gift.
