The late great Norman is still funny to this day. He is best known for his "broken mic" routine. It came about when his microphone was cutting out for real and the audience thought it was part of the act so he incorporated it in his repertoire.

I was doing a show at a club in London in the 70's. I had my own sound system, and was doing a "Sound Check" doing what Norman did. This poor committee man, in his later years, jumped up, and pulled out ALL OF THE LEADS OF THE CLUB SOUND SYSTEM, THINKING IT WAS THE CLUBS FAULT!!! BINGO STARTED LATE THAT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!
