It seems like he prevailed despite how difficult his life has been. He stood up to the establishment without shame at a time when most people were too frightened to be seen in public as themselves. Thorpe was an out and out crook and a genuinely creepy individual. This man outlived and outclassed them all. Great interview.

What Norman Scott is saying about his relationship with Jeremy Thorpe seems entirely different again, even from what is depicted A Very English Scandal. I think John Prescott's book would be an authorised version of what happened. I'm astonished to learn that Scott had a breakdown, and he was sectioned and medicated because he, Norman Scott, attempted suicide

In the drama, Norman Scott is wrongly depicted as a working class stable boy, but you can tell from his accent and eloquence, that he's had an education.

Not true. Norman Scott came from a humble background, ordinary state school, which he left at 16. Anyone can put on a posh accent - it costs nothing and, back then, was more influential in society, hence worth learning.

He is still banging on about not having a National Insurance card which is what everyone gets in UK a month or so before you turn 16. EVERYONE. This is so you can work. He was born in Sidcup UK. It’s his right to have an NI card. He doesn’t make any sense. It’s as though he has Asperger’s or something on and on about NI card. He’s not a foreign national he is British. Has he got his NI card yet?
