Finally I get to be the guy in the comments who says "I have that bass an I love it. " an I gotta say I have that bass an I love it.

A: the color is called “Hot Rod Red” B: radius is 9.5” C: many people have issues with factory shielding on these basses, which could be fixed by applying copper tape D: the noise was amplified by the fact that the factory preamp potentiometers were 500k value, which was too high for the preamp circuit, so as soon as you turned the treble boost up even a tiny bit you had maxed out the treble boost, causing any 60hz hum to become even more pronounced.

I have a few of these. They're great, but as we can hear on this, they're badly shielded from the factory. The shielding paint doesn't really work. I lined my cavities w copper. Worked like a charm.

I know Greg makes these basses sing, but I've noticed that the SVT is giving them this huge, nice beefy sound. I know this channel is dedicated to guitars/basses, but man I would love to hear a demo concentrating on that sweet, sweet SVT too
@MrRawnch Жыл бұрын
These were made in Black, Cobalt blue, Sunburst, and Hod Rod Red. The red option was the only one with a matching headstock. I bought one of these the first day they hit my local guitar shop and they're fantastic basses. The neck, nut, and radius profile are very close to a 70's Jazz bass and the pickup spacing is unique because it not a typical 60's or 70's spacing. Sits in a really nice sweet spot.

Got one of these back in 2008 before I really got into the p bass players. As I got older and more confident in my modding, I routed out a spot for a p bass pickup in the middle and moved the jazz neck pickup further toward the neck. I’m still trying to get a stack knob configuration to work with the preamp. Won’t need another bass for a long long while after these mods. This is a killer bass! I hope gender rereleases them.

The bass is beautiful, but maybe you guys could invest in a camera with external mic and put it fixed somewhere. The agc of the... phone? does weird things, and there was something I guess was breathing here and there. I'm not complaining, just giving a feedback.
