Just found your channel! Greetings from a finnish fan! Ancestral worship is definately something I feel called to do. The reindeer fur is something babies were traditionally put upon to be photographed (my father was in 1939) and it was thought of as protective thing. Finnish folktraditions have many superstitions from pagan age that have prevailed. My mother´s grandma was a folkhealer and my father has many dream-seers in his family including an ancestor who was accused to be a male witch 3 times in 17th century but acquitted (he could see fires happening in his dreams).

Runes are a pre creation power. Primal. They come from the void, or as it is called Ginnungagap ("gaping abyss", "yawning void") they are not meant for divination per say, but to tell things as they are, to revel truths that are hidden, and need to be know, to make life changing decisions. This is the real power of the Runes as you would use them.

To the people upset about the reindeer skin: Are you going to tell the Inuit people and other native tribes up north to stop killing animals and wearing the fur because it is their food source, culture, and spiritual beliefs? Then don't do it here, please.

EPIC gaymer Ah yes, arbitrarily harming and killing defenseless beings for culture makes total sense. Why would the culture excuse not apply to humans too? If culture is the only thing that determines morality then you should have no issue with cannabalistic or child sacrificial cultures. Or are you one of those people that believe animals feel no pain or emotion?
@benjamingumundsson43974 жыл бұрын
@@garden.of.thistles i know animals feel pain and emotions i just view humans far enough above most animals that our culture is more important than their lifes to me but im not an emotionless dickhead so i do much prefer animals to be killed quickly and dislike animal abuse and torture very much

EPIC gaymer you don’t have to consider animals equal to humans in order to respect their lives. It doesn’t matter who is “superior”, it matters what is justifiable. Culture doesn’t excuse other acts of violence, so why would it excuse unnecessary violence towards animals?

I really like Etsy, or other online shops like that, where you can get a lot of handmade stuff. I have a Freyja necklace that I really like that's the same style as the Mjǫllnir necklace, but it depicts Freyja between her two cats.
@upcycle.outdoorsman96295 жыл бұрын
I love your Mjolnir. I am envious of that reindeer pelt too! Recently Freyja sent a bobcat to test me. She kept eating young turkey's from my flock night after night. I put a stop to her on a cold dark night in a drenching downpour in late October. Her fur is now a prized daily reminder of how terrible and beautiful nature is. Amoral issue: I was going to eat, or she was. Nothing on that cat went to waste either, if you get my meaning :D. BBQ in a slow-cooker for the record, if you ever find yourself wondering how to prepare that unusual banquet.
@upcycle.outdoorsman96295 жыл бұрын
P.S. I have three cats of my own. I thought I'd add that since I know you are a cat lover. One of them is a Maine Coon who looks very much like a bobcat from a distance, so I had to be particularly careful while hunting that predator. My cats were relieved that the neighborhood bully was returned to Freyja :D.

Awesome video, a lot of the revival movements prefer "heathenism" over "paganism" to differentiate from the more common pagan faiths. A few things to point out is pronunciation, obviously things can be pronounced differently in different cultures however (meant to be helpful not critical) Mjölnir - sounds like: "muh-yoll-near" with a rolling r Blót - sounds like: "bloat" Ásatrú - sounds more like "ouse-a-tru" will not even start in on the gods or Yggdrasil, you clearly know your stuff :) I just think it's fun and fascinating to learn Old Norse and Icelandic. Very cool pieces I got to see an actual statue of Freyr at the museum. The Þórr statue they theorize could just as easily been a game piece. Still very cool piece and interesting to consider where it might have been from. Check out grimfrost for Jewelry. Awesome stuff on there and most is based on old finds.

People worship whatever Gods/Goddesses they are drawn to. The Gods/Goddesses call to us. Though some people do place importance on their ethnic heritage when picking which Gods/Goddesses they choice to worship, which is alright to do, this is not at all required. Anyone of any ethnic background can worship and honor any Gods/Goddesses. Also most Pagans believe in reincarnation. Anyone of us can and likely does have connections to many different sets of Gods/Goddesses though our past life connections.
